An interesting idea for an Austen character mystery. The writing however was too modern, terms of the time would have been better. A lot of research must have gone into the language called cant, which was used frequently in coversation with the characters stopping to translate. A nice continuation of Jane Austen's Emma - this story takes Jane Fairfax and makes her an engaging, likable and clever center of a story focused on murder, fraud and finding one's place in society.
