Shelves: non-fiction
Imagine my surprise when I came across this book in the non fiction section of my library. At first I thought it was Goodnight Moon misplaced in the adult section. Then I saw the title and realized it was a parody. I thought this book was hilarious and had to share it with my parents who both said "ain't that the truth." It would make a great anniversary present for a couple with a wicked sense of humor. I'll have to remember this in the future.

Shelves: humor, children-ya
I marked it for my children/YA shelf, but only because it is an adaptation of the popular children's book. It is NOT a book for children. This one looks at a very tired long-time married couple. Some parts I think some married folks might relate to, but overall, it is a bit on the depressing side, and not really that much fun. Kind of meh.

Its a children's book spoof that starts off pretty edgy and bad but has a redeeming quality at the end. When i received this as a gift i never realized it was made after a real children's book. That made it a little more interesting, especially after i saw the real children's books and compared.

I understand and even often like parody, but this was just not my cup of tea. Actually, not for kids. Probably should be in the adult section of the library. Even then, it wasn't funny.

There's lots of Goodnight Moon adaptations out there these days. I definitely enjoyed Go the F*ck to sleep. But this one was neither funny nor clever. Leave it on the shelf.
