Great book for beginners. This book helps you master simple ways to preserve food by canning and freezing.

The first part of the book goes in depth on what foods you can preserve, where to start, how to do and how much money it will cost you.

Next you will get into how to freeze foods the right way. You go in depth on what kind of containers to use and all the way to how much air space to leave in containers. Then they take you through how to freeze fruits as in, do you dry pack, sugar pack or sy

I was lucky enough to take a class with Jackie in her home; she's been my neighbor for many years. I appreciate how this book is laid out in lists. I can see how that will make it easier to do this. Can't wait to get started!

This is an excellent reference! Up until this book, the best so far has been my friend Marissa McCellan's "Food in Jars". But this book is everything you need if you intend to start preserving.

This was not what I was looking for. Too much information on freezing things, and WAY to much information on how to preserve pickles.
