I mentioned a while back that I have recently (within the past year or so) gotten deeply into H.P. Lovecraft’s work. I have read many of his short stories and I have to admit: the man was a dark genius. The mythoi he created are staggering, even today. So when I saw that Archaia Entertainment had a book titled WHERE’S MY SHOGGOTH?, I knew I had to get a copy. I am so glad I did because this book is excellent, a fun and entertaining look into Lovecraft’s worlds.

Not strictly a graphic novel, but due to its content, should probably be shelved with them. It's essentially a picture book with a Lovecraftian theme. So it's going to be over the heads of the picture book set, but will it appeal to teens? Beautifully illustrated with a unique concept, it remains to be seen whether or not it will find its audience.

A dark picture book that is certain to be popular with Lovecraft fans. The rhyming did seem a bit forced every now and then, but as a whole, the story was a very clever introduction to key figures from the mythos. And the illustrations were terrific.

Dark and unique books for everyone. Reading this was quite surreal. It's like H.P. Lovecraft they say but, I haven't read any of his books. SO there...It's just weird in a weird way. LOL

Absolutely charming, especially the Deep One who says it "wants to date my sister."

Breaks the mold of usual children's stories, and helps the readers imagination expand.
