Marcos London got me into the story right away and I loved Nicole from the get-go. His supporting characters were led by Simon, my favorite, a realistic, likable older professor. The literary references and excellent use of language added much to the enjoyment of this book for me. And there was a well-developed plot for a short book. The love scene was especially interesting as it was written by a man but just as steamy and engaging as any I've ever read. My only complaint was the length. I was ...more

Quite simply, I loved this story. It is always a task to flesh out characters and develop a plausible storyline with a beginning, middle, and end in so few pages, but the author has expertly accomplished this. I was introduced to the heroine, brought into her world of academia (which was refreshing), and given just enough personal information to be able to identify with her.

The hero was drawn with some surprisingly subtle contradictions that worked to make him three-dimensional, and the twist at
