In a small town located in rural Arizona there are two brothers that are not quite human. They have a deep, dark secret.

For Sam and Frankie life is a constant battle. Love for these two is more than long walks on the beach and those b

This was a different take on a mythology than I’ve read. I think there is more still to learn in the next book to come. The characters were pretty messed up except for may

What a different take on the incubus. I loved the way they were written in this story. I fell in love with Sam from the start. He was such a complex creature. You could tell he felt bad for his actions and really hated what being an incubus entailed. The title summed up Sam well Love really hurts because it made him want to fight aganist his nature. I love that his love for Delaney really pushed him to be better. Frankie was the man you know is bad for you but oh so good too. He was just as ...more

By now I think it's clear that Holly is a major fan of the dark and not so happy ending type of paranormal romance story telling. This would be no exception. However, I like her style.

I found Love Hurts to be a refreshing take in the romance department. Unlike other books dealing with the subject matter--succubi--she didn't make hers into love seeking, why-was-I-cursed-with-this-life MCs. Well, one maybe, but he's wasn't good by any stretch of the imagination.

Sam (a.k.a. Vance) was someone I d

Love Hurts is the story of Sam and Frankie, brothers who happen to be incubus. In the traditional role of the incubus, their purpose in life is to find women to have sex with and feed off of their essence…and then kill them. When Sam falls in love, he tries to fight his true nature so he can be with the woman he loves.

I'm really not sure if we are supposed to like Sam and Frankie, since they're the bad guys in this book, but I loved everything about them. I felt both characters were written wel

Light and airy, this is not! Sick and twisted, deep and dark, intense and disturbing, but what a freaking ride! If you are a fan of Holly Hood than you have learned to expect the unexpected when it comes to her writing. My fandom began with the Wingless series, continued with Ink and now Love Hurts.

Love Hurts is not your normal love story, by any means! This is a story of the ever popular Incubus that is NOT romanticized. The males in this story are severely messed up. Sam is running from his ev

Spoiler Alert:
Love Hurts seems to be the beginning of a series about a family, in particular two brothers who are half-human and half incubus; that are drawn to their dark nature of sex and murder. The story starts off with the attempted murder of a woman one of the brothers was obsessed with, then it fast forwards to the engagement party of that same brother with the attempted murder victim, Rose showing up to reveal to her best friend that the person who brutally attacked her and left her for

This book differed from most of the titles I read. I truly enjoyed the new angle taken in the story. A person can only take so many happy endings, and this book was just the difference I needed.

Rose and Delaney were great characters. Sam and Frankie were both deep, complicated characters. All the character development was superbly done. I loved the fact that this story was so dark! Some parts were disturbing and twisted, but that helped to continously draw my attention!

The story was so well wri

I thought I'd give this book a try because the concept of an incubus was not one I'd previously been exposed to, so I figured this would make for an interesting and different read. The concept is indeed a change in pace from the other books I've been reading recently, but in the end I wasn't totally crazy about the book.

First of all, I did not find a strong connection to any of the characters. As a reader, I do tend to place significance on being able to connect with the main characters and feel

Wow, what a different book, which is dark and just a little disturbing. It is certainly a different type of paranormal romance. And it is certainly makes you question which characters you are meant to like and whom you are not. Interestingly, as the story is about the two incubus brothers Sam and Frankie, with Sam trying to be good, and Frankie not giving two hoots about that, I expected to like Sam more. I was wrong. As a reader I don't really always get the lets make the bad boy good thing, ...more

This book is in sore need of an editor. Both grammar and what I assume are typos are so prevalent that reading this book is difficult. If I had to guess, I'd say there are at least 5 errors on every page; words are left out, too many words are left in, punctuation is missing, and made-up words fill this book.

That said, this promises to be a really good story. I think Ms. Hood is probably an excellent storyteller. Without a good editor, however, this skill does not easily transfer to writing. As

While the general story idea was good, the grammar, punctuation, and spelling was distracting, and the occasional lapse in the story left me filling the gaps. Unless this author uses a good proofreader, I cannot recommend this to anyone who would find these issues disturbing. That said, I truly enjoyed the paranormal-romance-thriller plot beyond what I expected given the early writing style.

Dark, strong, and a little disturbing. Well written and a different perspective on the incubus. The characters are well developed. I read it straight thru in a day. Recommended for adults. If you’re looking for a sweet love story do not read this.

I would rather listen to music than watch tv. Like One Republic, Justin Timberlake, Avenged Sevenfold. My taste goes from one extreme to the next. I am always searching for new bands. Have any? Let me know.

I'm currently on a smoothie kick. And I love it. I'm addicted to blurays and reality television when I am watching.

I love reading but most of my time is taken up by books that pertain to writing
