When love won't show you what you want to see, you will do whatever it takes to make a relationship meet your expectations, even if it means sacrificing your well-being, and throwing yourself down a rabbit hole of denial. Instead of being proactive and building the life you deserve, you settle for the one you have. Why? Because it's easier to try making the pieces fit, tha...more

The 9 Mirages of Love is a straight-forward guide to disillusionment for all those love-sick, fairy tale ending types. If, however, you are tired of unfulfilling relationships, this just might be the "reality slap" you need! Chiara has a no-holds-barred attitude when it comes to love, and she puts it out there with humor, honesty, and a slightly naughty diction. She is the ultimate girlfriends' girlfriend.

Listing the obstacles to a truly healthy relationship, Chiara mixes in humorous metaphors w...more

It’s never easy when it comes to love. Maybe you listen to Adele or watch The Notebook (and weep) when you’re nursing a broken heart. Maybe you cry yourself to sleep every night. Whatever you’re doing, stop and listen to Chiara. You can learn from a broken heart. Most self-help books lack conviction, but not The 9 Mirages of Love.

Feel that pulse? No matter what happens, your heart is going to continue to pump fresh blood around your body. Getting your heart broken feels like the worst pain in t...more

“The 9 Mirages of Love” is a brilliant and very useful book! You nailed it, Chiara, right to the point! It's like the book was written for me, it fits incredibly. Chiara is a talented writer in my opinion, it’s a very well written and original book with cool and personalized writing style. The interesting thing is, while reading this book it seemed that I was not just reading, but speaking live with the author. While reading I recognized several situations people around me encounter. I live in I...more

So far I have only read the Acknowledgements, About the Author, Preface, Introduction and am currently on page 2 of the first chapter. From what I have read so far I have prepared myself to receive a point of view about love and its mirages from someone who has experienced love and all the falsehoods of it, and not to expect to have anything sugarcoated.

After reading a bit more ....

If you are the type of person that needs a good kick in the ass and told to wake the fuck up and look what you are...more

I won this book from a goodreads givaway. Honestly, this book was definitely different than what I had expected, but a definite worthy win! Mazzucco separates the nine mirages of love, as well as types of relationship and a guide for breaking up. She simply states what we all need to hear when dealing with troubles in relationships. One typing error found, but nothing to outstand her writing. If you struggle with relationships on a consistent basis, I would say to you-READ THIS BOOK.

I love to write. What began as a hobby has become a full-blown obsession. I live in Los Angeles (but I don't plan on staying here much longer).

I'm playing around with different styles of writing and checking out what genre I like best (correction: which genre YOU like me writing best)

My first book, The 9 Mirages of Love, is a non fiction pseudo self help book for every one who is stuck in a world...more
