Kerry McGrath, prosecutor and candidate for judgeship decides to reopen a criminal dossier at the insistence of a (handsome) defense lawyer who thinks his client is locked up for a murder he has not committed. This angers one of Kerry's friends, who happens to be one of New York senators and thinks that this will compromise her future as a judge. He might not be able to recommend her if she stirs up the past. Political reality, or threat?

At the same time, Kerry's daughter, who was in a More...

This was better than the first Mary Higgins Clark book that I have read. This is about a young girl who was the opposite of Cinderella, she had two beautiful step-sisters and she was the one less fortunate on looks. Her father was a plastic surgeon who made her into his masterpiece. He adored her so much afterwards that he became obsessed with her looks after she was murdered and he started to turn some of his patients into a mirror image of her. A young girl was in a car accident and went to hi More...

Gak heran kalau penulisnya dijulukin queen of suspense.

After reading 3 of Mary Higgins Clarks suspense books which was all in one book. I have decided I like this one best! The plot felt so real, it could happen in everyday life, the charcters were well organized and held there personalitys and were described throughly throughout the book which helped it not be so confusing when she introduced new characters. I agree though you can spot the bad guy really early in the book which sort of ruins the story a little, but other than that her writing is gr More...

LET ME CALL YOU SWEETHEART - Good
Clark, Mary Higgins - standalone

Beauty has its price... Kerry McGrath had only begun to work in the county prosecutor's office at the time of the infamous "Sweetheart Murder Case" -- the bizarre slaying years ago of strikingly beautiful Suzanne Reardon. Now, ten years later, Kerry has gained a reputation as a smart and relentless prosecutor -- so much so that her name has been given to the governor as a candidate for a new judgeship -- More...

It was lunch break when I decide to take a nap in the library. But I was not able to sleep so I decided to read some book. I saw this book on the shelf. At first, I thought the book was some kind of a love story. But in fact, it wasn't. The book was a page-turner. It got my attention and my curiosity as I read every pages. I love the twist and turn of the story. It was so unpredictable especially the ending of the story. Definitely, this book is worth reading for.

Another excellent book from this author...complex storyline with lots of characters, but maintains
good character development and a storyline that's interesting and easy to follow....The story revolves
around a murder done 10 years ago, called the sweetheart murder, and new information/evidence now coming to light. The main character is an assistant prosecutor now discovering new items of a case where potentially an innocent man has been imprisoned for a decade for. The ending was une More...

Kerry McGrath is a prosecutor who is "warned" to back away from a murder case that happened 10 years ago and the victoms husband was convicted of. If she proceeds, her being up for a judgeship is not only in question but also the safety of her 10 year old daughtr. This was a really good book, it kept your interest and you didn't know who the murder was until the end.

This book was very good and very suspensful. The characters were believable, but the plotline would be hard to follow if you are confused by the author changing viewpoints. If you don't like books that go from one character to the next, this book may not be for you. The story line is a little bit slow and some parts seem to drag on. All in all this was a good read!

One of the best MHC books I have read even though, I had a good idea about half way through who was the murderer (which my suspicion was correct)is the only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. Would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good suspense book.

It's been quite a while since I've read Mary Higgins Clark. I love her writing style! I love the fact that she leads your eyes to what she wants you to see while she sneaks up behind you and sucker punches you with the ending. Masterful.

I read this to pass some time on the bus and because I heard she was a good mystery author. It's about a doctor who is giving the face of a dead woman to his patients and stalking them. It's very twisty and an enjoyable read.

I liked the characters especially Kerry's daughter who really made you like her and her 10 year old manerisms. I also liked her courage in the face of all the danger. Great read. As usual......I guessed wrong.

This was the third MHC I read while living in the US, and the one I liked the least. A story involving a plastic surgeon as the main suspect - somehow not as good as her other books I've read until then.
