If there’s one thing I didn’t expect towards the end of the Dragon Ball series, it’s all the dancing!

Boo’s going crazy waiting for Trunks and Goten to fight him so he literally destroys 80% of the world’s population. But his big ol’ chub-chub face is so cute, you can’t dislike him! It’s almost comical to read that caption: 80% of the world’s population!? Goku’s training Trunks and Goten to fuse which involves a complex dance sequence before the two literally become an enormously powerful one: Go

One of the funniest volumes yet.

Despite being a villain, Majin Buu is a character you simply cannot hate. He is just simply adorable! He's a rather interesting character because Buu is shown to be insecure at times and just wants to play and have fun. Given the relationship with Babidi, it's quite evident that Buu has been treated badly, at least verbally by his creators; he was always called names and just treated badly in that regard. And he has been lied to - led to believe that killing inno

I skipped ahead 22 volumes, which in human real time covers about five years of weekly serializing. During that span, Toriyama's storytelling became more complex, though his modus operandi of continually levelling up the heroes and villains hasn't changed. What has changed is his drawing style. His characters now are more angular, from their facial features to the folds in their clothing. The soft, chubby, children's-book quality of early episodes is gone, and there's a lot more of the kind of s ...more

For some unknown reason, the publisher decided to reduce the number of chapters starting from this volume and thus making the total volume of 43 for Mutiara Naga.

Akira Toriyama is a widely known and acclaimed Japanese manga artist known mostly for his creation of Dragon Ball in 1984. It is difficult to pin point the source of Toriyama's artwork inspiration. He admires Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy and was impressed by Walt Disney's One Hundred and One Dalmatians, which he remembers for the great art. Jackie Chan's early movies had a noticeable influence on Tori ...more
