This book contains factual information about the body and would be a great introduction into a week about the body. There are concise paragraphs on each page for the inside and outside of the body, hair, skin, bones, breathing, blood, the senses, eating, being fit and healthy, starting out/growing up, and getting better. It has great pictures, diagrams, and captions that are vivid and engaging for readers and listeners. A free digital book was also included with this book, which I plan

After reading My Body it made me think about the children’s book Where is Baby’s Belly Button? The book My Body goes into a lot more detail and answers questions about the different body parts, but this book is an easy way for young children to recognize the basic body parts like the eyes, mouth, feet, hands, and of course the Belly Button. They are both great ways to learn about the body parts and the book My Body has simple text with bright pictures, which makes it easier for younger children ...more

Very engaging, informative book about the human body. Text and illustrations are age appropriate and easy to understand. Each spread focuses on a particular part of the body, movement, or sense. Text is simple enough that parents of beginning readers will appreciate reading it with their preschooler. I would recommend grades Pk-3, older students will think it looks babyish. Comes with a Free Digital Book with code inside book. Includes table of contents, diagrams and pictures are labeled well ...more

Human Body

This informational book takes you on a page by page journey through your body teaching you facts along the way about your body parts what they do and how they work. Great to teach a science lesson on body parts and there functions, or even as a hook for a health lesson.
I would teach about the different bones in the body, the simple ones, by bringing in a skeleton. Will also teach about the brain have children make their own brain with play-doh. Would have a sensory table with different items to smell, touch, see, taste and hear.

1. There are 206 bones in the body and they keep the body part together and help you move.

2. Your brain controls what you think, feel and do.

3. You have 5 senses, hearing, seeing, touching, tasting and smelling.

This is the most simplest definition of the body. Not crazy like an anatomy class. It tells just what kids need to know in ways they can understand. It shows you what you see and whats underneath. Functions all all the parts as well. It also includes healthy eating and exercising, how to take care of your body so it does its job.
