This Fly Guy adventure tops the charts for sheer zaniness. Buzz and his dad are going for a ride in the car, and Fly Guy comes along. When the wind blows him out of the car window and into the cab of a passing truck, Fly Guy barely has time to catch his breath before he's catapulted into a boat, then a train, then onto an airplane. Buzz and his father are trying desperately to catch up, paddling a canoe after the boat, then pumping an old-fashioned railroad cart after the train, then...more

Tedd Arnold's "Fly Guy" Books are really fun. The storyline is goofy and kids love it--a kid who has adventures with his pet fly???? Yep!! But an adult can also see the humor in these books. These are some of the best books that I've found for kids to read who are 2+ grade levels behind. The writing is on a high 1st or low 2nd grade level, but the stories work for kids up through middle-school age who are struggling with reading.

What I like so much about this newest title is that it focuses on a common story time theme: transportation. I have some books that I like on this subject, but many more songs and rhymes, so I’m always looking for something to pair those songs with that is entertaining and of high quality. Because this book involves all modes of transportation, it works well with almost anything, and on top of that, it’s a fun and entertaining read featuring characters kids love. I don’t think it’s the funniest...more
This is fun reading for young kids. Something about a fly with "bug eyes" captures the imagination, especially for boys. The books covers are jazzy and show off the fly. Simple text and funny situations make kids want to follow along and read. This installment in the "Fly Guy" series introduces the concept of chapters to the kids - there are three - although it is not a true chapter book. It's truly a picture book for those who are about to read on their own, or newly reading.

Fly Guy is one of my favorite series! In this one Buzz and Fly Guy go for a ride in the car. Fly Guy is sucked out the window and is then taken one a ride I everything from planes and trains to a helicopter. The best part is at the end when Buzz thinks Fly Guy has gone into space one rocket!and as usual, the final line delivers the crowd pleasing moment we all love of this series!
These books are great for first grade reading level students to develop their confidence with reading while having fun. Fly Guy books are always a great read aloud for teachers and librarians as well as a fun book to share with your child. Any primary age student included, not just first graders or younger.
Yet another adventure between Fly Guy and his friend Buzz. How many adventures are they going to have? Don't flies only live a few days? I would have normally only given this three stars, but my five-year-old son enjoyed reading it so much I had to give it four. After all, that is the target audience, right?
Good for K unit on transportation.

Tedd grew up with three brothers. His family lived on a farm in Pennsylvania for several years then returned to Elmira until Tedd was ten years old. His father's work then required that they move to Gainesville, Florida. There, Tedd's first art lessons in an abandoned dentist's office over the Happy Hour pool hall eventually led to a fine arts degree from the University of Florida.
