What a great story of hope and love. Kristi finds herself Staring down at her Dad, lying in a coma in the hospital and just can't accept it. She asks God why and doesn't seem to get an answer. Until she winds up in the wrong room and meets Mark. He shows and teaches her about hope and going on. This is my second read by Alexandra and have not been disappointed at all. I look forward to reading more by her. Great job Alexandra!!

This story takes you through the emotional turmoil of a young lady named Kristi. Her father was in a bad car accident and is in ICU. Through Kristi's eyes we get to see how this can impact someone. Kristi blames herself because she feels that maybe she caused her father to be forgetful and have to go back to the office to retrieve paperwork, thus getting into an accident. She then blames God because she feels that he is not listening and answering her questions. Kristi meets Mark, a young man th ...more
Losing someone is hard, facing the decisions of letting go is harder than actually losing someone. This short novella tells the story of a young girl who has to face the decision of letting her father go...

Kristi's once perfect life was shattered when an unfortunate accident caused her father to lay motionless in coma, inching away from her day by day, becoming a stranger she do not know. Crushed and depressed, she began writing poetries to express her feelings, only to encounter an optimistic y

What a powerfully emotional read. It grabbed me from the first sentence and never let go till the end. The story of Kristi and how she dealt with her fathers tragic accident through the poems (lyrics) she wrote versus talking about it. I loved her meetings with Mark and how they never said anything but he was always reading her poems when she came in. There was a magical connection between the two of them. Mark ultimately gave her the strenght and empowered her to move on no matter
Short book 39 pages. I give it my top 10 rating.
ARC sent to me by author. Looking forward to reading more of Alexandra's books.

This novella grabbed me as soon as I started it and I couldn't put it down. Thought provoking book. Had me thinking back to a time I went though. I enjoyed the poems that were between the chapters that added to the story.

I don’t even know where to start… Lyrics of the Heart was heart-wrenching and beautiful; an emotional rollercoaster.

A story of loss, love, and most of all, hope. With so few pages, I really didn’t think that there could be so much emotion. I was wrong. This book left me breathless—speechless.

Lanc pulls you in from the first word and keeps you engrossed until the last page. The poetry throughout was wonderful, and really gave a deeper understanding of Kristi’s emotions. It was skillfully weaved

I knew from reading Alexandra's blog and reviews that she was a talented writer but I had no idea how talented she was until I read Lyrics From the Heart.

I honestly don't even know where to begin to describe all the emotions that ran through me as I read this beautifully written and tragic story about loving someone and having to let them go.

The story, the poems..just everything was so well done in such a short novel. I didn't think it could be possible to have so much emotion be poured into s
Lyrics of the Heart is a moving novella that tells the story of a young girl facing hopelessness and loss after her father is involved in a serious accident. A stranger she meets at the hospital causes her outlook to change and hope to surface as she sees this young man so graciously accept his own loss and still look forward to his future. This story was emotionally powerful and caused me to shed a few tears. The insertion of a poem between each chapter of the novella was both unique and intere ...more
Great read! Fast paced, poetic, and very emotional. If you like medical stories from the perspective of the bystander, rather than the patients or the doctors, this is right up your alley. I imagine a lot of people can relate to protagonist a lot.
Short story about not giving up and always keeping hope in the forefront of our lives. We never know what tomorrow may bring.
