kay, the cover of A Love Soul Deep by Amber Scott got my attention. Any woman would take a second glance at that. Then there was the blurb that got me. An antique store; a locket; a dead lover; ghosts. I'm hooked.

If I say much more about the book itself, I'll give too much away. So, that is all you get from me on that. Let's move on to the technical and not so technical parts.

First, this is a novella. You are not getting a full novel with this. Be aware of that. I hate to get something and find...more

Love. Love had led her across the ocean, far away from her family and friends only to be told that he had changed his mind. This was love? Leigh had pondered this over and over as she had been forced to find employment with a less than reputable woman. But, she wasn’t starving and she couldn’t ask her mother to send her money that she didn’t have, just so she could crawl up under the covers for a few years and totally disappear. It was up to Leigh to figure out how to get home, well Leigh and he...more

This is a beautiful and bittersweet lovestory that made me cry, smile and sigh.

The idea of getting a second chance at love, at getting back together with someone who was torn away by death, is both beautiful and scary. What if your memories are wrong? What if you still don't know what to say?

I could really feel for Sara: her love for Crew and the loss she felt were heartbreaking to read. I could only hope that she would find happiness again and that the fulfillment of her deepest wish would bri...more

Sara is a woman that has been greiving for a very long time over a man she was with such a short time. They had such a strong bond that she can't move on after his death.
What would she do if she could have one more chance to spend time with him? Well, this story will tell you. At times, it changes scenes too aburbtly and it takes a second to catch on to what just happened. But it isn't too hard to catch up.
The story was too short and could have explained more...but it was a good, quick read and...more

In A Love Soul Deep, Sara is on a girls-only getaway still grieving the devastating loss of her boyfriend eight years before. While exploring an antique shop, a locket catches Sara’s eye, and the images in the locket look very much like herself and her deceased boyfriend. Sara buys the locket, and soon begins to think the locket is magic because Sara’s dreams of Crew (the boyfriend) become much more solid.

I had a difficult time understanding Sara...more

I always wonder what it is that inspires an author to write such a story, especially one like this. Amber Scott really let the emotions of her character Sara jump off the page. I must say I did not expect the little curve ball that was thrown in at the end but I have to say it was one of the best I have read. We all grieve and move on in our own ways and this had to be the most interesting one I have ever come across. Love is one of the most powerful emotions we all feel and it in itself brings...more
