I have a hit and miss relationship with Derek Adams' books. I often like his writing style and I'm impressed that he seems to be able to write in a range of genres within m/m, but his earthy and raunchy erotic sex scenes don't do it for me. I was pleased to find that this book was quite different to many of the other things I've read before by this author. It's still a very sexy book, but it's also sweetly romantic and has two very appealing lead characters.

I loved this book! The story is engaging, sensual and highly romantic. Mike and Eric, two young guys, meet as teenagers. The setting is a bucolic small resort town on the coast. Mike is a local and Eric is the son of rich summer visitors. They meet, fall in love - very hesitantly on Mike's part - and seem fated for happiness. Nice shorter story of Mike and Eric who meet as young men in high school and have a fling - just before Mike finds out he is going to be a father. DNF-got to 85% and decided even skimming I was wasting my time.Vvery amateur and parts of it felt like they belong on nifty, not in a published book.
Too short, for one. Too easy, for two. The great parts were the sex scenes as it was just too easy for the guys to fall in love. There needed to be more.
