This is a love story with twists and turns and gives you the backdrop
to the Queen's life. She is in all the Legend series and this explains so much.

ARC for Review ~ First off let's begin with this an ADULTS ONLY read!
Wow Poor Conall!! I just finished this short story by Claudy Conn, it does give you a lot of info into the background of Queen Aaibhe (Ah-hibbe) and just how she became Queen. It also tells the story of a love so deep, one that can not be denied, so much so, that it sets into motion a series of events that had me glued to my seat.

Aaibhe-Shee Queen Book 1.5 in the Legend Series
Aaibhe is a Daoine Fae, the highest caste of Seelie Fae. As she went from the Fae's island of Tir to watch the Druid priests during Beltane, she meets Conall MacTalbot. The first time in centuries she is attracted to a man, a human no less. Unfortunately for the lovers she does not realize that Gaiscioch, her dear friend and ex-lover, is watching, waiting, seething, hating and plotting against them both.

OK, I read the whole novella... but there are several previews at the end of the book, and I got confused as to when the story actually ended.
I enjoyed the romance between the Druid MacTalbot and the Fae Queen Aaibhe-Shee. It was touching. The Fae Queen really found a part of herself she thought she'd lost long ago - a heart, compassion, feelings. Sex became more than a release, but making love.

The story is a short and is a spinoff from a series.
This I did not know when I started to story.
I found the rapid pace, the fact that the story is not really set in a place etc a bit disconcerting.
It goes from dialogue to passion to somewhat ecplicit sex to death, murder and betrayal all in a few short pages.
I think I would have enjoyed it more had I some point of reverence.
Still it is not a bad story and the author is obviously good at what she does.

Just perfect.... I have been entranced by the story of the Fae and just to read about Queen Aaibhe was so romantic, but yet so heartbreaking. I love her and Conwall's story of love and lost. I am won over by the Fae and the Druids all over again. Each book I read in this series just draws me in more. The author makes you apart of the magical world with words. Every reader of romance and fantasy should read the series.
The Seelie queen just found something she had never experienced before. Something she thought was lost to her forever and to top it off it's a human that has brought this about.
I've never read any of Claudy Conn's works. But I have to say I LOVE her writing style! She's so clearly descriptive and indulgent with it all. Such a sensual Fae short story that left me wanting much much more!

as this is the first piece of the Legend Series by Claudy Conn, i really didnt know what to expect but as i kept reading i found it an enjoyable read. i love the prologue explaing the new Seelie Queen and what happened before she became queen. and i love how the antagonist was one of her very own warriors, jealousy taking over him. cant wait to read more of the series
Aaibhe-Shee Queen was the first of Claudy's series I have read and I was spellbound with how enchanted the book made me feel. I found myself sighing with envy for such a romance then cried for her loss .I am not usually so easily drawn into a book as if I am not just reading but right there inside was emotionally a great ride . I highly recommend this for a good read.
A short story that allows us to see more in the Queen Aaibhe's head. We also get another reason to hate Gais as he could be considered the villain of this story. Conall, poor Conall, was the druid that fell in love with the wrong person, but is showed that Aaibhe could feel emotions.
We also get to knoow how she became queen which was a nice surprise.

I love Aaibhe Shee Queen! As always, Claudy Conn has left me hungry for more. I've been intrigued by her Legend series from the start. Her characters are always so very interesting, well developed, and diverse. And her settings are so deliciously exotic and marvelously detailed that I find myself in her world of Fae each time I read one of the installments.

I enjoyed this novella from Claudy, if you are interested in reading her Legend series I would highly recommend reading this it offers insights into Queen Aaibhe via her personal musings and flashbacks. It really opened my eyes as to why she became the woman she is today.
I really enjoyed this fast read. Had nice hot spot and a good ending that makes you want to read the next book in the series, which I plan to do.
