I wanted to enjoy this book, I really did and normally I don't mind loving one's family but the heroine took it to extremes, I mean she was eighteen and her sister sixteen when their father died, she did the best she could and then their aunt ran off with their money and then what did she do, get herself married to a man financially well off so that her sister could go to college and even when she was miserable with him and found out that he was using her to hide his gambling she stayed. Good book. This story dealt with Max, who held on to feelings of betrayal without delving into those betrayals and the reasons behind them. My real rating is 2,5 stars. The heroine is annoying, stupid and bent on ruining the reader's mood by acting like Mother Teresa.I feel like the author owes me a big favour for buying and reading her book to the end.

I think this is my favorite Cat Schield book so far. It wasn't flashy and wild and crazy, but there's just something about Max and Rachel's journey to happiness that touched me. It was a very satisfying story and I literally sighed with a smile on my face when I finished.
