Absolutely adorable! I usually read longer, full length novels, but I'm so glad I picked this up. Matthews packs in lovable characters, snappy dialogue, and an overall delightful story in to this novella. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

I have recently read three novellas by Claire Matthews and really enjoy her writing style, it's witty, funny, current, and engaging. This story is more of the same. Her characters are very likable and the love story is sweet. What was different about this novella is that there was a couple of explicit sex scenes that were unexpected, as the previous stories were pretty darn PG. Things change I guess! I didn't think it was integral in the story telling but some must need that spice. I enjoy more ...more

Honestly, I would give this book 3 and half stars. It is really cute but short (although the length does not detract much from the book). There were a few parts that were a bit unbelievable. I have worked for a law firm and many of the lawyers are not as friendly to the clerks and other staff as Sam seemed to be with our heroine. Just the fact that he took time to discuss her plans was amazing on his part. All in all, the hero is adorable, brother/best friend is a hoot (but needs to grow up) and ...more

A good read. My first impression of Lainey was that she was immature. I found her initial attraction to Beck unconvincing. Her attitude about having a baby ALONE and how she went about accomplishing it was unrealistic. I thought her desperation really detracted from her character. The story really became enjoyable once Lainey kicked Operation Get Knocked Up to the curb. Beck did something for me. He was genuine, caring, and sexy. Ooh, and hot! I wanted to eat him up with a spoon. I loved their H ...more

For a novella, it could have had a better story line development. Sure her biological clock was ticking but the character made some irrational decisions without really thinking about the consequences. And how could she afford law school tuition as well as artificial insemination which is a lengthy and expensive procedure. Unrealistic I say! Nonetheless, a very quick read with a surprising but nice ending.

I read this in an hour, once I started I couldn't stop, I had kind of figured how it would end up but this didn't stop me enjoying it. Lainey is my favourite shes lovely and would make the perfect friend as she's so loyal. I enjoyed the teasing between beck and lainey. I'll be looking out for more by this author.

This is a fast paced story about a woman who is nearing thirty and whose biological clock is ticking due to issue with her reproductive system. Lainey has a guy in mind, someone she works with, so then why is Beck, her younger brother's best friend, someone she can't get out of her head?

Really enjoyed this very short read, I think it took me just under two hours. To say how short it was it was really good.

Loved both the main characters, only wish it could have been longer.

Focusing on short contemporary romance, Claire finds time to write between teaching political science
