Masked Identities had 2 story lines. One of a girl reflecting on her life and the breakup with her boyfriend and the other was told through the book the girl was reading. The switch of story lines was so seamless and captivated you from the beginning.

Would I recommend this book....yes
would I read it again...definitely yes and won't forget my hankies this time!!

probably because I'm not American, I couldn't relate to the main story, but I loved the Victorian London parts. I wish Sebastian and Ambrose's story was the main and only story... but now I'm going to check other books by this author!

I really enjoyed the parallel story of Megan reading a book about Sebastian and Ambrose, while realizing how her life was similar to theirs. She uses their story to realize things about herself and her recently failed relationship with her boyfriend, Chandler. One thing I do have to say is that I hated the alternate ending. Not my cup of tea and didn't enjoy it. I much preferred the initial ending. (view spoiler)[(I personally prefer HEA and HFN stories rather than ones with little happy resolut...more

At least it was short. If this was any longer I probably would have abandoned it and never gone back to it. The writing was amateurish, the characters were flat and I didn't care about them, even the story wasn't good. The only remotely shocking thing that happened in this highly predictable story was the "alternate ending" and even that seemed pretentious because there was no reason for it to happen that way. And I didn't care about the character enough for the end to be emotional. That's what...more

I really liked thedual story aspect of this book. For a short story, i thought the there was enough background info to really feel for the three main characters and it flowed really well. If I have to say anything negative its that i wanted to know a bit more about the victorian story, seemed to end quite quick, though better than i'd thought whilst reading it!
