A page turner with suspense.

This was an okay read. I liked how the chapters were short which made for quick reading. I did like the friendship that developed between Monica and Robin. Monica angered me that she would allow herself to be backed into a corner where she had no other option but to strip to provide for her children. When your husband has millions, put your pride to the side. I can't stand blackmailing schemes and having to subject herself to blackmail from her ex-husband's business partner ticked me off. Also ...more

I listened to this book on audio and it definitely kept my interest. It was nicely paced and a good length. I don't know if the author intentionally tried to throw me (readers) off or if it was just me but I kept thinking Trey and Tremaine were the same man with two different women since Trey could be a nickname. Anyway I enjoyed how it played out. I couldn't believe Monica actually went through with stripping but I guess she really felt out of options, her personality in the book didn't seem ...more

This was my first novel by Sasha Campbell and I have to say, I did enjoy reading it. I was invested in the characters, particularly Robin, and I was eager to find out how things would develop. The reason I deducted a few points was because of the grammatical errors that were throughout the book; tense changes mid-sentence, skipped words or too many words, and an overall lack of proofreading. Also, the ending seemed rushed and came across as a bit too coincidental.
Despite those things, I still e

so it took me some weeks before I decided to read this and I must admit this book was really good. Sasha did very a good job at keeping my attention. the story begins with Robin aka treasure who has been dancing at Scandals for sometime. Robin has to take in her nephew prove her estranged sister innocence and keep halo her ex at bay while trying to start a new relationship. Than there is Monica aka deja who's exhusband doesn't help her much financially so her last result is to strip add a couple ...more

After a considerable amount of research, I will be hosting a summer reading book group on this book and am so glad I chose it. The book is definitely an urban/street lit book, but the sex and violence fit the story and (more importantly) it HAS a story. I had problems with the story (including a storyline about a female friend of one of the main characters) and the book could have benefited from a bit more editing, but I liked it. It kept me interested and I cared about the characters.
I really enjoyed the book but I could not root for Monica. She continued to say that she would do whatever she needed to take care of her kids but she was actually just wanting to maintain the same lifestyle but it was not for her children. I mean, she lived in a 2700 sq foot house but the girls slept in bunk beds in the same room and she was making car payments on a Lexus. Granted she did eventually re-enroll the children in some of their extra curricular activities.

Sasha did her thing with this novel. I really enjoyed it! So glad for Robin and Trey, Deena, Kyle, Monica the girls and Treymane. In this novel everyone got exactly what they deserved and I loved the ending! Some grammatical errors but overall a great read!

I must read Consequences next!

I enjoyed this book. I lol a lot. I liked Robin more than Monica. Monica acted simple at times. I didn't care for Karen Pittman's(Monica) narratin it seemed too forced, and over acted. I liked Krystal King's(Robin) narratin, thou. Good Book.

I liked this book. Though the characters were fictional the reality was this is real life for lots of woman. The ending was predictable to me, but there were some surprises in the book. An easy read. I like this author.
