Holly's First Noel is a hilarious, flirtatious Christmas romantic comedy. Every element I look for and love in a book is here in this story, put together in a way that had me smiling at every page, laughing out loud more times than I can count, and wishing my science teachers had been half as sexy as Noel Coward.
Holly is a girl's girl. She says things we all think, mostly at completely inappropriate times. Seriously, she probably needs a filter, but that just made me love her all the more. And N...more

I really enjoyed both Holly and Noel. Even though they had worked together for the past year, they both steered clear of the other, Holly being intimidated by Noel and Noel not sure what to make of Holly. But once those barriers were down, they were absolutely perfect for each other.
Holly was one of those characters that was "out there". She spent a lot of time in her head and then would inadvertently ask questions or statements related to whatever conversation she had been having with herself...more

Have I mentioned how much I love novella's and especially Christmas themed novellas? Well if I haven't - I'm going to now!!! This was such a cute read and I couldn't pull myself away from this once I started. I didn't want the story of Holly and Noel to end.
Holly's been dumped. And it's the week before Christmas. She breaks down crying, only to be found by science teacher Noel. Who takes her out for coffee to vent about what happened. Coffee ends with Noel inviting her along on his trip to Scot...more

My thoughts:
This is one of those stories that is so well done that you finish reading it wishing there were more pages in the book and thinking that your relationship is crap, no matter how great your relationship really is.
Jackson is that guy we have all dated (some of us married the fool) and regretted it after.
Noel is that guy we have all been dreaming about since we decided that maybe boys didn't have cooties. The characters are fantastic and the story is wonderfully written.

I loved this novella because the characters were so well-developed. One minute, your heart was breaking for them and the next you were laughing along with them. Noel's story was enough to make you weep--especially fully-realized as his character was. I swear this almost read as non-fiction the characters were that real. By the end, I really felt like Holly and Noel were good together--they could heal each other. Brilliant writing and a touching love story. It's been two months since I read this,...more

Holly’s First Noel is a funny, quirky and romantic short story from Entangled Publishing. Holly has everything prepared for the Christmas visit of her boyfriend’s (Jackson) family. Then just a week before Christmas, he broke up with her. With her heart broken, a sudden unexpected invite to a holiday vacation to Scotland by a widowed fellow teacher, Noel, sounds a great idea...who knows something happened?

Once again, I became wrapped up in Holly and Noel's novella and wanted more! Poor music teacher Holly gets dumped by her boyfriend over the phone during a class and Noel, another teacher, overhears the conversation. It's right before Christmas and Noel is someone who knows about heartbreak. He lost his wife during the holidays so he does something nice--he invites the upset Holly to his weekend home for a Christmas meal and the opportunity to begin the healing process. Unbeknownst to either of t...more

Holly's First Noel is a sweet, contemporary romance, with humor and just enough steam to make it a great all around read. BONUS it's a Christmas story! Holly's First Noel is a novella (78 pgs) but it's a whole lotta story and emotion inside!!!

That hit the spot this morning. Loved the sweet romance and the underlying heat between the Science teacher and Music teacher. They just suited each other down to the bone. *snicker* That too. Who knew tweed could cover up such a lovely and mercifully manly set of...well, everything.
I totally recommend if you want a *sigh* worthy read.
