She developed a lover’s relationship- but only in her dreams, where they can not touch. Asmodeus trained Angel the best he could, but when she failed to be accepted as The Gift to Satan, she was tossed off the cliffs and left for dead.

Declan is walking along the beach when he finds this ethereal, stunningly beautiful woman left broken and battered on the sand. He knows nothing of her or where she came from only that she is laying unconscious and naked on the beach. Her body is covered in blood and tribal tattoos. Immediately, Declan calls an ambulance to rescue her. He instantly feels compelled to protect her so he follows her to the hospital.

Once Angel awakens in the hospital, she tells Declan she has no name and she has no recollection before the age of five. The only people she remembers are Asmodeus and The Grandmother. She is in a strange place and time- she knows nothing of where she's at. The hospital…the people…everything is abnormal to her. So Declan decides to help her out. He names her Angel. His Angel? He then takes her home where he can teach her what she needs to know in order to survive in the real world.

Just when you think you know what's going to happen, think again. There were some turn of events I didn't see coming which left me in suspense most of the time. This is a completely different book then what I thought it would be. I originally thought it was a paranormal romance, but it's not. This is a story about love, family and the reconciliation of the past to be content with our future.

Declan and Angel both have deep, very deep seeded issues to figure out- and they do, but with time. It's going to be a long and hard haul for both of them. Declan enlists the help of his father. This is difficult for him since he hasn't spoken to his father for many years. They both go to work on how and where Angel came from at the same time restoring their relationship. I was in shock when the story unfolded itself..I didn't see it any of it coming.

To be honest, I had no idea what Fallen Angel was about. I only knew that I had to read it since it's by a favorite author of mine. I felt like this book was a bit lighter compared to her darker erotic books I adore- still great though. I truly enjoyed this book. One thing I like about Eden's writing is that she leaves nothing left to question. Every detail is clear to me and I love that. I hate having to guess what an author pictured and I never have to with her books. I also love the fact that Eden Bradley can write sensual romance books to fit everyone's taste.

Once again Ms. Bradley manages to capture the love of two emotionally broken people while telling a beautifully written story. Well done!

I am thrilled to get my hands on books before they hit the shelves! I read Fallen Angel last night- in one sitting. This book is not one I would have picked up on my own... I mostly read paranormal romance and urban fantasy... I haven't read contemporary romance very much lately, let alone contemporary erotic romance books :p I would have missed out on a beautiful story.

So, first off, the cover is very beautiful, but not very evocative of the story. To me the cover looks like a Fiction Romance (the kind with a sad ending) or maybe a chick lit. It does not say, extremely HOT, steamy, erotic, contemporary romance with heart and angst and a mystery that keeps you wondering for more than half the book. Also, I was given a heads up by Dawn, and in case you missed it because of the cover and the title Fallen Angel, this is NOT a paranormal, at all. I think if you know what genre of story you are getting that helps a lot. :)

I enjoyed this book. The writing is very sensuous and lyrical. The heroine, Angel, is near death when we meet her. She lands at Declan's feet! Poor Declan! He's had so much trauma and loss in his life that he has closed himself off and having this beautiful, damaged woman fall in front of him makes him determined to save her. Angel has a murky past and is extremely innocent of the world. She doesn't remember seeing a man before Declan. She compares him to the guys she sees in the hospital and still thinks he's the most attractive male! As the story progresses you discover how much she's been through and want to protect her yourself. I appreciated that Eden didn't let Angel be without choices. She gave her the power to make decisions and express herself. I watched as Angel healed physically from the trauma done to her body and heal emotionally by visiting her therapist. Because of her past she is very open to her own sexuality and sees sex as something beautiful and not taboo. Declan feels the attraction too but fights it because he feels a sense of guardianship at first. So the sexual tension burned the pages...*blush* I could have done without so many scenes of the main characters masturbating. When they finally do get together the relationship has had time to grow and there is so much heart with the heat. *sigh*

I liked Angel and though she's unfamiliar with the world I found her to be wise about people. I think she saw things with a fresh perspective and it was beautiful watching her relate to Declan and help him face old wounds and start to heal. Declan, is a delicious hero! Wounded and wanting to protect and give Angel everything in his power to make her safe and secure. Angel has to face personal demons and decide on the future SHE wants.

If you enjoy steamy contemporary romance with wounded characters who find healing together, give Fallen Angel a try.

If Goodread allowed halfsies I would give this 3.5 stars.

She has been isolated in a compound with her only human contact being The Grandmother, the elderly cult leader who was preparing her with drugs and ritualistic torture to be The Gift to Satan. The drugs created an alternate plane for her where her demon lover, Asmodeus, taught her all she needed to know about lust and pleasing a man. When she failed again to be accepted by Satan as The Gift, The Grandmother tossed her off the cliffs, where she landed at Declan’s feet.

If you are confused right now, you are not alone. For me, Fallen Angel was long stretches of boredom, sprinkled liberally with confusion and sex scenes that made me uncomfortable. Declan takes Angel home with him since she has no one else but even while she was in the hospital, she wants to have sex with him. Declan is her first human contact other than The Grandmother and she wants to “gift” herself to him. She is so incredibly innocent about all things except sexual pleasure, I didn’t feel that she had the mental competency to make a healthy decision about anything as serious as a sexual relationship.

After they get to his home, she starts to learn about average life, what a television is, eating in a restaurant, etc. as she continues to throw herself at Declan. And continues to have sex with Asmodeus on the alternate plane as she tries to decide if he is real or a figment of her imagination. Though the psychiatrist in the book repeatedly says she isn’t a child and discusses how mature she is, I didn’t feel it and she came across very child-like to me, which made any of the scenes with sexual content very uncomfortable. This is a conversation that happens after she sneaks into the hero’s bed for the second time (he rejected her the first time) and preforms oral sex on him while he is sleeping.

“Angel. What’s going on? What are you doing here?”

“I’m here to make you happy. To show you there is no reason to deny your desires. Or Mine. Have I not made you happy? Your body is happy. But I still need you, Declan. I need you to touch me.”

“Jesus, Angel. I can’t believe this.”

“I’m real. I’m a woman, Declan, not a child. And I want you.”

This is the standard dialogue between Declan and Angel. I never got a real sense of who she was other than someone who needed to give herself to the hero. I couldn’t relate to Declan, either. All I knew was he has some unexplainable connection to Angel from the beginning, he was angry with his father for choosing to respect his mother’s wishes when she was dying of cancer 10 years ago, and he was bitter that his father had found someone new. That’s basically the whole story.

I had to question if the love she felt for Declan was real or if it was just because he was the one who found her. She loved The Grandmother, who kidnapped and abused her. She loved Asmodeus, her demon lover who was not real. And she loved Declan, the man that found her and introduced her to the real world. Many times, Declan refers to Angel as “my baby” and “my beautiful girl” and, ultimately, that was my problem with Fallen Angel. She was a girl, not a woman who could enter into a healthy romantic relationship and make me believe in it.(less)

Angel doesn’t remember anything about what happened to her or what her life was like before she was thrown of the cliffs.

Most of the book is slow paced, only at the end it picks up speed. I didn’t had a feeling the characters were having a goal or were going somewhere. Of course Declan and his father try to find out who Angel is, what happened to her and where she came from. But Angel isn’t working hard at getting her memories back. She’s more busy with creating a place in her new world. While she tells Declan it’s important to accept the past. I don’t think you can accept a past with huge chunks out of your memory. Angel does goes to therapy but it’s more about the present, not recovering memories from the past.

Most of the book I found Angel really weird, I didn’t get her. She said she’s The Gift. The Consecrated. Trained by Asmodeus, the demon of lust, in the art of seduction. But later on when I learned more about what happened to Angel, I felt really sorry for her. Sometimes she sounds really mature and intelligent, sometimes she’s very childlike. Also she was drugged most of her life, shouldn’t this have some effect on her? Even though she stayed in the hospital for quite a long time, the absence of drugs should have some influence.

I just didn’t like Declan. He’s a coward, bitter and lacks compassion. He’s selfish, isn’t able to see things from someone else’s perspective. He can’t accept reality, losing his mom, losing Abby, his dad falling in love again, even Angels feelings. In the last pages of the book he acknowledges that he’s made mistakes and needs to change.

There was attraction and lust between Declan an Angel but there wasn’t romance, I didn’t feel the love. I think Angel fell in love with Declan because to her he’s a knight in shining armor. She’s not used to people taking care of her, she’s not even used to being surrounded by people. Angel doesn’t say why she loves Declan and Declan doesn’t say why he loves Angel. They just love each other. End of story. I think this book should have more depth in the love department.

I think the story is original and it’s beautiful written. It’s just not very realistic and believable. It was at times really confusing, I thought for a while that it was a paranormal romance which it most definitely is not. Both main characters where mentally unstable which adds to the confusion. I think this book was an OK read.

Didn't think I would ever finish this book, but am happy to say that I did, and happy to say that it's over...really unusual for me to not like an Eden Bradley book, but I didn't care for this at all.

She's from this world, but is as if she's never even been part of it. No one knows where she comes from. It's like she magically appears out of nowhere, and that is where Declan determines to find out who she is, and ensure someone pays for what's been done to her.

Although the book falls within the erotica category, there is more to it than that. Oh don't take me wrong, there is lots of h.o.t, very good sex in it. Angel LOVES sex, and Declan, well he can't deny her. He tries, but what's a guy to do when he's got an Angel begging for it? Uh? Right, my thoughts exactly.

The romantic element, plus the mystery of Angel's dark past (as in pitch black), and whether her BFF is real (I thought was very interesting...) makes Fallen Angel an entertaining and thought provoking read.

This book was incredibly different…very psychological and intense. I was never sure where the story was going, or as the reader, even where I wanted it to go. Both the main characters Declan and Angel are dealing with some heavy mental issues, which makes the book sometimes difficult to enjoy. The book definitely kept my attention, but I’m not sure how much of that was simply because of the bizarre circumstances….it was hard to look away…kind of like watching a car wreck.

Both the main characters Declan and Angel are dealing with some heavy mental issues, which makes the book sometimes difficult to enjoy. The book definitely kept my attention, but I’m not sure how much of that was simply because of the bizarre circumstances….it was hard to look away…kind of like watching a car wreck.

Both Angel and Declan are characters with histories that are a bit of a mystery.

For Declan, he has horrible anger issues with his father, based back to circumstances surrounding his mother’s death. That story slowly comes out throughout the book as does the tragedy of his love for Abby. He and his father do not have a good relationship, but he’s putting that aside because his father is helping him trace Angel’s origins. It’s also his father’s girlfriend who is Angel’s therapist. They are both helping Angel, which makes it hard for him to hold onto his anger.

Angel is a complete mystery. She literally falls at Declan’s feet off the edge of a cliff, beaten and almost dead. But he finds himself entranced with her and completely protective of her. She’s an interesting character. There are no gray areas for her…only black and white. It seems like her life would have made it harder for her to be happy, but she simply accepts that her life has been what it is and accepts it completely.

Like I said, this was an interesting book. There are a LOT of psychological elements to it. Angel has had this horrible torturous life, but she’s a happy giving person. Declan has had a few bad things happen and has let that skew his attitude towards everything. There is a lot of introspection for both these characters and at a certain point, it simply felt like too much. As the reader, I wanted them both to stop questioning and analyzing every little thing. While this was not an ideal read for me, it was not a bad read. For me, it was simply not my style of book. If you are a person who enjoys psychological thrillers with a slightly erotic twist, you probably would enjoy this one. It’s written really well and the story is interwoven and reveals in a slow, methodical way. Not for me, but still a good book.(less)

This book had me confused. Starting off with the beautiful naked woman that seems to fall off the sky (or was it a cliff) at the feet of the hero who was taking a walk along the beach with his dog. Declan has an instant connection with her (and yes I made myself hope that the connection wasn't just the fact that he was checking out the bloody and battered womans breasts).

Declan gets her to the hospital and stays with her through operations and recovery time. He's there for her when she wakes up not knowing much about the real world. Could she really be an angel or just that innocent to not even know how people live? But Declan is the support that she leans on to discover herself and how to face this new world.

All throughout the story she actually sees Asmodeus, the demon who had trained her in the art of seduction. Him and The Grandmother were responsible for raising her and were all she knew. But what is real and what isn't? Had she really been an angel and trained by a demon?

Declan is no stranger to issues himself. I was a bit disconnected from him actually and at times he was extremely aggravating. My main problem with him was actually his anger towards his father who many years after his mom passed away had now found another woman to make a life with. And Declan thought that was unacceptable to the point of almost not talking to his father.

Angel on the other hand was such a fragile character I'm not sure she was ready to be in a relationship, or at least it wouldn't be a very healthy one. I would've liked to see her more independent and finding her own two feet, even though she did.

There is quite a bit of sex in this book, some at even the oddest times and circumstances, because these two just couldn't keep their hands off each other.

The ending was a shocker! I couldn't have seen that coming at all and it gave a whole new meaning to the book.

Fallen Angel is not my favorite book by Ms. Bradley, it's certainly something different than what I'm used to seeing from her and certainly not what I expected.

This book was not what I thought it would be at all. I read the blurb and thought it was a PNR when really it is a very human contemporary novel. I am not complaining because generally speaking I enjoyed this.

I haven’t ever really read erotic fiction before, so am not really sure what they would normally read like. I found the sex scenes a bit too much in this story, they seemed to be at it every second, or thinking about it (or she was with Asmodeus, doing the dirty) and to me this was too much, none of it seemed realistic. Despite an intriguing, evocative first chapter, FALLEN ANGEL's mix of relentless sexuality and infantilized, cult victim creeped me out too much to continue. FALLEN ANGEL is simply breathtaking. From the very beginning, when Declan finds Angel broken on the beach, the tone of the book hovers between reality and paranormal reality. This is a gripping story that had me flipping the pages as fast as I could read them. It's dark, gritty, intense and passionate. I can't believe I bothered to finish this book. It was truly terrible. Proof that people who don't write sci-fi/fantasy shouldn't try or at least it shouldn't be published. I frankly didn't care about the characters at all and the obstacle that happens in every romance novel was one fight and it was even that bad. The dialogue and writing was all stilted. Don't waste your time.
