"Another crisply plotted tale from the fertile imagination of Jeremy Robinson. This one has it all, frozen Nazis, UFO crashes, Antarctica, and some really cool science. Plan to hunker down for all-nighter with this one. I did." –Steve Berry, New York Times bestselling author of The Jefferson Key

"Robinson blends myth, science and terminal velocity action like no one else."...more

I am always hesitant to review books outside of the genre. I worry that I will drive away readers who came for alternate history, but were instead presented with something different. Nevertheless, I still enjoy reading and reviewing novels which could be enjoyed by alternate historians. Novels like World War Z or Fitzpatrick's War transcend the definition of alternate history and get the term "honorary alternate history" bestowed on them by their fans. The common denominator for these non-genre...more

The sky is blazing red with red specks falling from the sky. Fish are dying Lincoln makes it to land, only to learn that an attack has been launched on the world. Someone has depleted the world of oxygen. With the lack of oxygen, people are also dying and the specks falling from the sky is all that is left of civilization. Miller mus...more

This book is effing improbable. I am probably going to have to petition the universe for my time back that I spent reading it once I finish it tonight. I think I would have been able to suspend disbelief and enjoy it more had it not been for one, extremely DUMB plot point: (view spoiler)[The notion that Nazis have rooted in our culture directly after WW2, silently waiting for the signal of the new world order, was one thing. The fact that (unless I read it wrong - I will admit, I have been skimm...more

“SecondWorld” by Jeremy Robinson, published by Thomas Dunne Books.

Category – Mystery/Thriller

Ex-Navy Seal and NCIS special agent Lincoln Miller has been “forced” to take a long needed vacation. He has been assigned to the underwater research facility “Aquarius” in the Florida Keys.

When he notices strange things happening he leaves the Aquarius to find that the area is depleted of oxygen and he is only alive due to his SCUBA gear. Finding enough oxygen tanks to get him to Miami he finds the city...more

I’m embarrassed to admit that SecondWorld is the first book by Jeremy Robinson I’ve read. A fact that will be soon changing, I assure you. It is a thriller in the complete sense. From the moment you meet our hero, ex-Navy Seal, current NCIS special agent Lincoln Miller, you never leave his side as he swims, runs, jumps, drives, flies, paddles, and climbs through countless harrowing attempts to end his life, before he can stop global annihilation at the hands of recently-th...more

Fantastic adventure romp with high stakes and non-stop action. When red flakes start falling from the sky in 3 major cities, the world wonders what's going on. Then everybody in those cities dies as the oxygen is removed from the air - and in just a few days, the red flakes will return and cover the rest of the earth. This is seriously high stakes but Robinson immediately anchors the plot with Lincoln Miller, who survives the first strike in Florida because he was underwater at the time. The act...more

Attention, Clevelanders -- Miami is DESTROYED in this book! Not the Heat basketball team, the ENTIRE CITY! LeBron James won't be winning any NBA championships after Navy SEAL Lincoln Miller saves the world and cleans up the mess resurrected Nazis create in this world.

Yes, resurrected Nazis. Seems the biggest villains of all time are back to take over the world 70 years after they lost World War II. Miller and his little band of rag-tag commandos must dodge thousands of bullets, ward off aerial a...more

SecondWorld is one of those rare books that comes along, that if you dont read, later on down the road when this book has become a household name, youll kick yourself for not reading it sooner. Jeremy Robinson is one of the best when it comes to action, apocalyptic theme, and ORIGINALITY!
Lincold Miller,an ex navy seal, finds himself in a race to save the world from Nazis bent on robbinf the world of oxygen for their personal gain!! With millions already dead the clock is ticking.

ScienceThrillers.com review:

Nazis. So brilliant, so effective, so incomparably evil.

What’s not to like?

Action thriller master Jeremy Robinson exploits all the obvious advantages of these classic villains in his new novel SecondWorld. No, SecondWorld is not set in the past. You thought Hitler was defeated? Think again. Those German fiends have had decades to bring their biggest plan to fruition. Why would someone want to kill 99.9% of all the humans on earth? Because they’re Nazis, of course. How...more

Spoiler- do not read this unless you can do so in one sitting! Secondworld is a combination of all of Steve Berry's thrillers, Indiana Jones and James Rollins. What begins as a vacation babysitting an underwater lab off the coast of Miami turns deadly when strange red snow begins to cover and smother everything cutting off oxygen. I now know that if I go scuba diving at least I might survive the apocalypse for as long as the oxygen tanks last. The story takes us back to the evil world war II Naz...more

Jeremy Robinson has once again, reached into his story-telling hat and pulled out a winning premise and the perfect protagonist to bring it to life.

Lincoln Miller is an ex-Navy SEAL who is now an NCIS special agent. He is sent to an underwater research station to investigate reports of ocean dumping, But, what Miller finds instead, are strange red flakes falling from the sky, millions of dead or dying sea creatures, and most importantly, no oxygen at the surface.

Fearing the worst, Miller makes...more

I found this novel to be less of a thriller and more of an action adventure tale. Think Cussler goes apocalyptic, and you'll be on the right path with this one. Very entertaining and action-packed with more than a few cool scenes. That Operation Paperclip is the basis for the novel is enough to earn it 4 stars from me, but what really sold me was the second half of SecondWorld. Wow. The story is fascinating and a little too believable...in that Operation Paperclip is real and all the dire possib...more

I am not usually a fan on military style SF novels but this one pulled me in. Right from the start the reader is greeted with an Apocalyptic vision of the present day that quickly transforms into a breakneck paced thriller. I read this one in two days as was genuinely sad when it was over. You are taken from below the Atlantic ocean to Antarctica, and from Washington DC to the new Mexico Desert. The plot is plausible and just real enough to make you stop and think if this could have actually hap...more

Proof that New York Times reviewers are biased by what is most likely financial gain. To call this book a page-turner is a disservice to suspense novels the world over. I don't need to be former special forces to shoot all kinds of holes through this plot. After suspending my disbelief for the third or fourth time I stopped counting and plodding along waiting for an ending which would make up for it all. It never happened. If you want more of a reality check, and a Nazi page-turner true to form,...more

This was one of those books that I wanted to finish once I started, but which was not as good as I hoped. In this genre you expect the characters and plot to be a bit contrived, but this book was a bit more 'over-the-top' than I expected. The use of historical facts was good, and the plot interesting, but some of the scenes were more drawn out that they could have been, and the writing didn't strike me as developed as other books in the genre. This wasn't a bad book, and it the plot line really...more

It keeps you pulled in. Very excitng to read with little to no dull spots. The foreshadowing is a little weak. Only becuase it's too overt and leaves little for you to ponder and keep you hooked to see what will happen next. Some repition issues as well. Not for the sake of consistency either. I've caught my self saying "he's already used that phrase to describe a different, unrelated situation..." The idea is not very original. But, still lots of fun, if you like Navy SEAL, hit squad, hand gren...more

Are you looking for a shocking page-turner? Do you enjoy the suspense of Matthew Reilly and the high adventure of James Rollins? Consider SecondWorld, an intense and unpredictable thriller by Jeremy Robinson.
NCIS Special Agent and ex-Navy SEAL Lincoln Miller, is working on Aquarius, a sub-oceanic research facility, when the sub starts being hit by dead fish. Looking out his window, he notices strange red flakes floating past his window and decides to go out and investigate. Debris floating by tu...more

This was a surprisingly good book. It follows much in the vein of how James Rollins writes: prologue some years ago establishing a technology or secret, then followed by present day adventure and globe trotting. The science all sounded plausible, which is always good: iron falls through the earth's atmosphere sucking up the oxygen, while at the same time causing iron poisoning to the inhabitants. The bad guys are, of course, Nazis...because what other people would like to eradicate the general p...more

I read a lot of YA books which tend to fall into the paranormal/fantasy, SF, and dystopian genres, and a few stragglers. And I enjoy them, some immensely. But they don't give me that thrill. That rush of adrenaline, which I had been missing. Then I picked up Jeremy Robinson's latest thriller. He writes like James Rollins and Matt Reilly - somewhat improbable plot, improbable feats of derring-do, etc. But they are fun and enjoyable, and they all do well in bringing people to life. And that was th...more

Mr. Robinson has blown me away yet again! I really enjoyed this book. Very fast paced, action packed, some history in the mix, and always the question left wondering "what if". It actually had me looking into some specific historical notes on WW II.

The Characters were very strong, exciting, and never willing to give up. I felt like they actually really cared what they were doing and what each of them standed for. Lic Miller was very driven trying to do the right thing believing in his SEALS trai...more

An okay read, but too unbelievable. A single ex-Navy SEAL saves the world from certain doom. I struggled to maintain the 'willing suspense of disbelief' in light of the protagonist's apparent invincibility in scene after scene, and so never really got immersed in the story. On the plus side, profanity is a minimum. I also applaud the author for not including any sensual themes or scenes. Overall, an entertaining recreational read, but not one that's likely to stand out over time.

The story line was good in concept but could have been better written. There were quite a few continuity issues and the "epilogue" didn't really wrap anything up. If it gets a rewrite (that's been well edited), I would most definitely consider changing my rating. Over all, if I didn't pay close attention to every detail and focused on the over all story line, it was an ok read.

Another really good story by Jeremy Robinson. I started reading this one on as an eBook on my Kindle and couldn't put it down until it was done! I generally don't put in spoilers when I write a review.. I'll just say that I would recommend this one to anyone who asked me about it.

From start to finish.. this was a great read.

Good beach reading, but it's just out in hardback. Fast paced. Some interesting historical fiction aspects, which had me searching on the web and for some other books about post WWII.

Wasn't sure about reading more Jeremy Robinson after I finished Threshold, but will buy more of his in paperback for traveling.

Well Yet another cracker fron Jeremy.

Lincoln Miller takes a licking and keeps on ticking - he reminds me of the energizer bunny (for those of you know the Duracell Ad) or another anaolgy is Jack Bauer from "24"....

Breathaking read and I am note sure if I did not see a few wisps of smoke from the page turning key reading this LOL

I would say tho that for my personal taste I love the Antarkos saga better ..... has that bit of a supernatural edge which I really like Antarktos Rising

This was one of the best books that I have read in some time, and there is quite a bit of competition for that claim. SecondWorld was an amazing combination of action, suspense, historical fiction, and science fiction. I was a little reluctant to start reading because I was concerned that it would be another apocalyptic tale. I enjoyed the Strain Trilogy but it really ended on such a down note that it was depressing. SecondWorld is not a story of doom a gloom, but rather a fantastic adventure wi...more

Lightning fast pace, all kinds of excitement going on - from undersea drama, red ashes from the sky, no air to breathe, a meeting with POTUS, rescues, Nazis, Antarctica...the list goes on. Unbelievable - yes! But it's fiction. And I loved it. It felt like "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" - on steroids.
John Hanley
Very light entertainment just right for lounging by the pool side. Utterly ridiculous premise and his characters were more cardboard than the average Jeffrey Archer construction. The action sequences were Mission Impossible standard though it would need the skill of a Tom Cruise to make them look authentic!
Ryan Rauber
Honestly, this book had me with evil Nazis trying to take over the world. This book was non-stop action, from start to finish. The sky starts turning red, robbing the world of breathable oxygen. And this is just the beginning. Definitely the ultimate summer read, and I couldn't put it down. Highly recommend.
