Connor Galloway is a sexy Irishman with a brogue to boot who is a self-employed Seattle based artist. Mischa Kennon is a tattoo artist and shop owner from San Francisco who travels to Seattle for a few weeks to help her best friend with her wedding plans, as well as to branch out by opening a second tattoo shop. Connor and Mischa are both very independent, confident, and yet vulnerable. Their bone-deep, instantaneous attraction is felt at a primal level from the first moment when they lock gazes at a party to celebrate their mutual friends’ upcoming wedding. Little did either know their lives were about to spin one-eighty after the intense sex ensues. Both have convinced themselves that this is going to be a fun two-week fling and when the two weeks are up it will be life as usual. Let’s just say that they’re both asses for assuming and are in for a rude awakening, as it will never again be life as usual now that the flames have been ignited.
Mischa has dabbled in BDSM before but none of the past doms can hold a flame to Connor; he has a definite command presence, he exudes dom-ness from every pore. This presence is not just in the bedroom or while on their scintillating outings to the Pleasure Dome—it’s not just an act—it’s ingrained in his very being. For Mischa, giving up control to Connor freaks her out but at the same time she knows she likes it and these conflicting emotions are enough to send her into a tailspin. Both have been non-committal in the past when it comes to relationships and, frankly, how could they not be when Mischa’s mom and Connor’s dad were up for the Least Likely Role Model award.

I devoured this story, whizzing through the pages, just dying to know what happened between these characters that were so endearing that they took over my weekend! You must read Eve Berlin’s Temptation’s Edge to find out if Connor and Mischa loosen up on their controlling behaviors and give themselves the chance to experience love as it should be—not as they have witnessed in their youth.

Eve Berlin not only wrote two strong characters, she also adds in just the right amount of BDSM to keep the story edgy and hot. Temptation’s Edge is a contemporary erotic romance that will keep you turning the pages as it squeezes your heart.

Mischa Kennon is a San Francisco tattoo artist and a writer who comes to Seattle to help her best friend with wedding preparations and stumbles upon Connor Galloway, a big Irish hunk who is a true Dom to his core. They're two mature adults who are only looking for casual and share interests in BDSM, and they immediately fall into a gloriously hot and heavy sexual relationship. Mischa explores submissive tendencies she didn't realize she had because she's never been with a man as commanding and authentic as Connor. Both of them think that between the long distance between them and the fact that neither of them have ever sought any kind of serious relationship, they are safe from any permanent relationship or any real feelings developing here. They each have skeletons in their pasts that hold them back, but they quickly see that no matter how they started or what their intentions, something undeniable has happened between them.

Eden Bradley, writing under Eve Berlin for this BDSM series, is one of the most talented, intellectual writers in erotic romance today. Her books read as literature with explicit, well-written sex scenes and powerful love stories. Along with A 21st Century Courtesan, this is one of her best. It's clear that she has a heart for BDSM and for showing how a relationship that contains dominance/submission and the power play exchange can be every bit as normal as a traditional one. Connor and Mischa have many similarities that make them a perfect match, and from their first meeting to their capitulation into love, this is a story to savor. Readers who shy away from BDSM or can't relate to the tenets of the lifestyle can wade in with ease here because it's so much more about Connor and Mischa as individuals and as a couple, the issues we all face, than it ever is about spanking or being tied up. The scenes when Mischa tattoos Connor and when Connor draws erotic renderings of Mischa are intimate and breathtaking. And the issues that come up between them are realistic and make sense for them.

This is one of those rare romances where every word is thought-provoking and every scene richly drawn. Berlin continues to grow making her dialogue come through as completely natural. This is the book for a glimpse at a BDSM relationship in the real world, with a hero and heroine with real flaws and who ultimately become stronger together than apart. I loved absolutely every moment.

On the night she arrives in Seattle, she joins Dylan and her fiancé Alec, along with their friends for dinner. At the dinner she meets Connor Galloway, Alec’s best friend. Their attraction is immediate and they spend dinner flirting and getting to know each other. Mischa feels the dominant pull that Connor has right at the start and knowing that he’s a friend of Dylan and Alec she correctly assumes that Connor is a Dominant. Connor is extremely suggestive and honest about his attraction to Mischa. At the end of the evening, they share a cab home, only Mischa ends up at Connor’s place and a very smexy evening ensues.

But when Mischa wakes up early the next morning, she panics and leaves. While the sex was definitely hot, Mischa doesn’t see herself as a submissive, even though she seemed to easily fall into the role with Connor. She’s dabbled with bdsm a bit, but she’s not in the lifestyle; she thrives on her self control. It’s all she has and it’s what has made her a successful woman. She counts on no one but herself. She’s confused about her reaction to Connor and she doesn’t like it, better to keep it just about sex. But as she and Connor spend more time together, the lines they’ve drawn start to blur and they both come to realize that some rules are meant to be broken.

I had a difficult time getting into this story. I was about 30% in when I finally found myself a bit more drawn into the story and felt more of a connection with the characters. But they continued to frustrate me to no end. I felt there was more focus on Mischa and not so much on Connor. We do get back story on both of them, though. We learn that they both had very difficult childhoods and while you’d think having something similar in common would draw them together, it’s the thing that actually keeps them apart. The constant reminding the author did about their pasts and why they shied away from relationships was tiresome and repetitive.

I liked Mischa’s character. Strong, intelligent-a self made woman. She took the lessons learned very early in life and made sure that she would not repeat her mother’s mistakes and never depend on a man. Until Connor Galloway steps into her life. The author does a good job with these two. I could really feel the tension and turmoil that they felt with each other; their confusion with their feelings for each other, their sexual connection obvious. In this, I really liked how the author portrayed Connor. Clearly a dominant, he seemed to be conflicted whenever he and Mischa were together. While there was always that hint of dominance about him, on many occasions it seemed to me that they just made love and there was no bdsm involved. I liked that he seemed to experience this “change” when he was with Mischa and I would have like to have seen him embrace this side of him more. Instead the author chooses another direction and while I should have known better, I was disappointed all the same.

The conflict toward the end was no surprise and the only way the story could have gone, really. In that, the ending was a bit rushed and extremely predictable. I really would have liked it if Connor and Mischa had found more of a “middle ground” in exploring their relationship. I should not have been surprised by Mischa’s actions in the end, considering the type of story this was, but I was. Because of this, the book ended on a sour note.(less)

“Temptation’s Edge” is the first book I’ve read by Eve Berlin. I’m already a big fan of the author’s Eden Bradley books, so I was looking forward to discovering how this series of books differed from her BDSM erotica books written under that name. What I found was a genuine romance between two well-defined, all too human characters who also happened to enjoy a higher level of kink in their sexual relationship. Both Connor and Mischa were people with genuine feelings and frailties, with the same worries that any regular couple just starting to fall in love would have. I found that refreshing in a genre where we so often only get to see that level of vulnerability in the submissive heroine and the dominant hero only comes around to finally recognizing his feelings when he’s convinced he’s lost the heroine for good.

Connor and Mischa meet for the first time at the engagement party of their close mutual friends, Alec and Dylan (their story was told in Pleasure’s Edge, the first book in the series). Connor is one of Alec’s groomsmen and a fellow Dominant at the Pleasure Dome club. Mischa is one of Dylan’s maids of honor and her best friend. They experience instant physical attraction to one another almost immediately, and spend several days together learning how they fit together in a Dominant/submissive relationship. Connor is a hardcore Dom who uses BDSM to control what he worries is a dangerous temper inherited from his father. Mischa is familiar with BDSM more as casual play than serious commitment, and her passion for Connor pushes her to go further into full submission...but only in the bedroom. After a childhood where she had to be responsible for her entire family, the last thing she wants is to trust her sense of self and safety to another person.

What I loved about this book is how it blends BDSM erotica and classic romance tropes so neatly that the sexual dynamics don’t overwhelm the joy of seeing two people fall in love. It was also great to be able to start in in the middle of a series and not feel like I wasn’t getting the full enjoyment of the story by not having read anything that had come before. It’s always a tricky balance for a writer to make each book fit in a series but still be open enough to stand alone for a new reader. Eve Berlin did it in a way that made me want to go read the other books but not regret that I hadn’t done so already. I thoroughly enjoyed Connor and Mischa’s story and I’m looking forward to reading the stories of the other couples we met in “Temptation’s Edge” as well as all the other stories yet to come.(less)

Lets start with Connor. Ohhhh but this man is hot! Irish, yes accent and all and with sexy as hell tattoos. Dominant to the bone, of course. He's an artist both as profession and hobby. Knows how to have a good time and take care of his girl. Of course he has to have issues and baggage. His is the classic I will turn out like my father so I don't want to fall in love and be with someone because I'll hurt them. I was happy that even though the issue was there he didn't make it such a big deal to the point that it ruined the build up of the relationship or got annoying. Did I mention he's the type of Dom I'd like to find?

Mischa is exactly the type of heroine I normally like to read about. Outgoing, independent, sociable, goes for what she wants. A talented tattoo artist. She also has the same issue as Connor. Her mom had the bad luck of falling in love and getting pregnant twice by different men who left her soon after she either gave birth or got pregnant. But she kept falling in love and getting hurt. Mischa swore she would never love and become her mother. Only flings for her. She did get a bit on my nerves with this issue because in my opinion, with a little common sense, this is something that I feel people should overcome.

Mischa is in town for her best friends' wedding and this is how their whirlwind romance takes place. It goes from 0 to 100 the first night they meet and pretty much stays at that fast pace throughout the whole book. You don't see me complaining. Even though it was so fast I thought the connection was instant and everything they did and when they did it felt right and appropriate instead of rushed. I was so enthralled with the story I almost read this book straight through, if it wasn't for a minor interruption. I devoured it!

This is definitely an author I'll be reading more of. I need to read more about the Pleasure Dome Club and the couples that made cameo appearances in this book. I'm sure they'll have me drooling as well.

Temptation’s Edge is an engaging story, written superbly, and oozes with sexuality. Mischa Kennon is a tattoo shop owner and artist, residing in San Francisco. Mischa is spending a few weeks in Seattle to help her best friend during the beginning stages of wedding planning. While there, Mischa plans to branch out and open a second shop, partnering with a long time college and close friend. What she doesn’t expect is an instant attraction to Connor Galloway, a sexy Irishman who is a self-employed artist. Based in Seattle, Connor is also one of the groom’s best friends, not only sharing coincidences in residence, but also in their sexual activities. The attraction between Mischa and Connor spark an agreement, a no-strings attached affair, exploring into Connor’s dominant tendencies and into Mischa’s undiscovered submissive needs. What they don’t expect is to find something more than just a relationship and an agreement, and going beyond something deeper into the terrifying unknown.

Mischa is a strong character, being an independent woman and a business owner. She knows what she wants and has molded her life to reflect those life choices. Mischa has had an abnormal childhood, filled with suffering and painful memories, but she has moved beyond them. Or at least so she thinks. Meeting Connor has opened up a lot of things about Mischa’s personality that she never knew about. She has discovered things that she never knew she needed to explore. Having a submissive side and giving in to pleasure and pain has been a thrill for her, opening up her heart for love and more.

Connor is similar, yet different to Mischa. He has had a painful past, he has generally the same issues as Mischa, and while his current life is different to Mischa, he is self-confident and also independent. Connor is a male that oozes sex, a perfect male figure for a romance novel. He has very strong dominant tendencies, but isn’t cold nor is he vulgar. Connor respects Mischa, in all the ways that a woman should be respected, and all the ways that a reader would also.

The instant attraction between Mischa and Connor was believable. In Temptation’s Edge, Berlin actually brought these two characters to the edge of their comfort zone, pushing them slowly to go over. It’s metaphorical, of course, forcing the two characters to go beyond their comfort zones. The world that Berlin created within the bedroom and within the Pleasure Dome is surreal, bordering between fantasy and reality. It allows for the reader to want to become a part of their world, and definitely include Connor with you.

I enjoyed this story, quickly absorbing each word. I lost sleep over this story, wanting to read the next page after the next. I loved seeing glimpses of former characters, and I appreciated that Berlin wove the stories together so well. I urge you to read Temptation’s Edge, and explore your boundaries.(less)

Mischa and Connor are attracted right from the moment they see each other. Despite a rough childhood where she had to grow up early and be the mature person in her family, which consisted of her unstable mom and her younger sister, Mischa is a smart business woman, creative and completely taken with Connor. They meet and immediately fall into bed that same night, neither one expecting anything more than having a really great time.

Connor’s had his own past issues with an abusive father and a loveless marriage when he was very young. He’s closed off, but finds the control he feels as though he maintain through being a dominant. Mischa is familiar with BDSM and falls into the submissive role easily with Connor. Too easily, as it scares her how quickly and fully she’s able to let herself go in those situations. The feelings and their scenes are very intense and while they both know Mischa is only in Seattle for a few weeks, they keep their temporary relationship going, exploring different aspects of BDSM and letting their feelings get more involved than either one really wants to have happen.

I won’t say this is one of the most intense BDSM stories I’ve read, but there are some elements, specifically the pain and one choking scene that Connor uses on Mischa, that felt a little more intense than in other stories I’ve read before. Most of their scenes together take place in private, either at Connor’s place or Mischa’s, they do have one scene at the Pleasure Dome Club that put Mischa on display. The intensity of their relationship plays a huge role for this couple, but I found myself more drawn to the non-BDSM scenes, even just the plain non-sex scenes between these two. Mischa tattooing Connor, the times they opened up about their pasts, Connor drawing Mischa – all these moments made their relationship deeper for me.

The story completely focuses on their relationship which happens as the wedding for Dylan and Alec is coming up. The only angst comes from the couple’s issues with commitment and love. It was a little frustrating to see the angst play out with Connor just leaving at one point, not being able to deal with his feelings and leaving Mischa alone after an intense night. Of course there’s an HEA, but their resolution felt a bit confusing to be honest. Connor was the one who walked away, but it seemed like Mischa was the one saying she’d never leave him again. These two obviously have issues to work out, but it just felt a little too easy at the end.

This was the first book in the “Edge” series I’ve read and it made me curious about Dylan and Alec (Pleasure’s Edge). Their wedding takes place during this story and I want to get to know this couple a bit better. It’s not necessary to read the prior books, this reads fine as a stand alone, but I really liked Dylan and her scenes with Mischa in this story. She was a great best friend and a supporting character that I’d like to get to know as a lead heroine.

Overall, this is definitely a steamy, sexy read. A few scenes were a little out of my BDSM reading comfort zone, I’m not big into reading about pain scenes, but it’s still an interesting, emotional journey for Connor and Mischa to find romance and happiness. If you like a dominant, alpha male, look no farther than Connor. He takes charges and Mischa can’t help but submit to him and enjoys every second of it. It’s an enjoyable read and I plan to catch back up with prior characters and their books in this series.(less)

Temptation’s Edge is a well-written, realistic erotic romance. Mischa is strong, independent and willing to try new things. And like her best friend Dylan, she’s a published author of erotic novellas. Connor is swoon worthy—you’ve got to love a man with an Irish accent. He’s a flirt. Smooth. Intense. And until Connor, Mischa had never met a man who could maneuver around her. Their sexual chemistry was scorching, and the tension over what they felt for each other—their confusion—was obvious. Yet in some ways, I never really felt a meaningful connection between them beyond the sex and power play—unlike the couples in the two previous stories in the series. In the end, when all of their emotional issues were wrapped up neatly within a couple of chapters, I wasn’t entirely convinced that they were meant to be together long term. Overall, Temptation’s Edge is sexy, emotional, and erotic read of desire, fear, self-discovery and love with a satisfying HEA. It contains light BDSM and edge play—pain play.

Conner Galloway inherited his temper from his father and has used his role as a Dominant to control his anger and rage. Conner is always in control but that goes out the window when he meets the sexy tattoo artist Misha who looks like she was made for him. Misha slowly starts to break down all of the walls Conner has built up and he must soon make a decision to either ealk away or finally let himself love a woman.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with Temptation’s Edge but within the first few pages I was hooked and couldn’t stop reading. This book is part of a series but I had no problem reading it as a stand alone. We meet some of the past characters but they play a small role and things are explained very well. From the very beginning the sexual attraction between Conner and Misha is off the chart and this book does not waste anytime with these two hopping into bed together.

Conner and Misha are both very damaged people who have a lot of issue with their parents. These issues hold them both back from every really connecting with anyone until they finally meet. There is a lot of sex in this book and there are some really amazing scenes but there is also a lot of very heavy duty emotions going on. When these two aren’t screwing one another silly they do open up and get very real and personal. I really enjoyed the sex and the emotional stories these two told and it was very refreshing to read an erotica novel with a deep plot and characters.

I think anyone who loves some good smut, BDSM and great strong characters will really enjoy this book. Conner and Misha are both very easy to like and the chemistry between the two will keep the pages flying. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more by the author. (less)

Mischa Kennon is a tattoo artist that is visiting Seattle for her friend Dylan’s wedding while working on the possibility of opening a new tattoo shop. She is well aware of Dylan’s and her fiance Alec’s BDSM relationship and has had some playtime of her own on occasion. She is strong and independent and doesn’t mind trying out new things for the sake of excitement. Too bad, most guys have not managed to be all that exciting to her. A tragic past of watching her mother deal with endless heartache while she and her sister were abandoned left Mischa hesitant when it comes to relationships. Thus, having some fun with one of Alec’s Dominant friends for some quick play time without strings attached is certainly not out of the question.

Connor Galloway, is one of Alec’s close friends. Hanging out in the same BDSM circles as many of the wedding guests, Connor is not afraid to admit that he is a Dom as well as a sadist at heart. When he lays eyes on Mischa and her beautifully tattood body, he sees not just a woman, but someone who may enjoy his brand of pleasure with a bite of pain infused. With some flirty and very suggestive introductions, Connor charms his way into an evening with Mischa and shows her how Dominant he truly can be. When it is clear that one night is not enough, they both find themselves in a whirlwind of emotions mixed with pleasure and pain that bring up difficult memories of the past, and certain fears for the future. Can Mischa learn to trust a man with her heart? Can Connor learn to finally trust himself? You will have to read this magnificent, mindbending love story to find out.

Eve Berlin has created two painfully deep characters that you will fall in love with. I simply fell for these tortured souls and felt as though I was right there with them throught the story. Connor with his heavy Irish accent and Dominant presence hovers over you throughout each page. He gives a strong and safe feeling that makes you feel like the one being cherished as you follow the story. His command over Mischa is overwhelming and you simply melt with her every time he goes Dom. I also enjoy that the story has a little bite to it. I have read so many BDSM stories where they touch on spanking and maybe a toy or two. This one moves into pinching and clothespins, and rather than overwhelming the reader with it, it is done in such a way that you can’t help but be curious. In addition, the sadist enjoys his own pain in the form of a tattoo. Having quite a bit of ink myself, I can attest to the fact that it is an almost meditative experience when that much pain is involve due to a large piece. Eve Berlin turns it into a very sensual experience and shows how personal even a tattoo can be. I love that both Connor and Mischa share in their pleasure and pain. The passion and magnetism these two characters have for one another is beautifully written and sexy beyond belief. Mischa’s response to Connor is dreamy, and when he pushes her beyond her comfort zone it is as if you are in that subspace state with her.

Such a beautiful, sensually sadistic, story that one simply has to savor when reading. Each page is like the most sinful dessert that you know you shouldn’t have, but you also know you can’t resist. I don’t know what else to say except WOW! Eve Berlin, you have made me a fan and I can’t wait to read more.

Her complete willingness to try anything, along with her acceptance of her kinks, make her unlike anyone he has ever dominated before. He is enthralled by her attitude and it isn’t long before she’s under his skin. Mischa is both thrilled and terrified at the way Connor can control her and get her off. He certainly leaves her previous Dom’s in the dust, but she realizes that the intense feelings he illicits from her are dangerous to her heart.

With both of these two suffering from some severe emotional baggage courtesy of their parents, neither of them are willing to put themselves in a situation where they could be hurt. But pushing each other away hurts and they need to ask themselves whether it will hurt even more not to give what they have a chance

This isn’t the first book in the series, but I do think it could be read a stand-alone. I don’t recommend that you do it that way because I think this series deserves to be read in its entirety. I particularly enjoyed this edition, although there were aspects that I found difficult to relate to.

On the surface, Connor is a bit of dream boat. He’s hot, Irish, solvent and a top-drawer Dom. He allows her to tattoo him, works through her business problems with her and seem to adore her in all her bossy ways. Dig a little deeper and you’ll realise Connor is a bit of dumbass. I have no problem with this, the majority of hero’s we read about in Romance land are dumbasses, but he does some really shitty things in a misguided attempt to protect his heart. Connor’s father was a man who talked with his fists. Because of this Connor thinks he is irreparably damaged. He married a woman who he didn’t love inorder to try to have a sense of “normal”. Shockingly, it fell apart because he seemed to have missed the point of marriage. Because of these events, he has decided to let no woman near his heart for fear of hurting her because he can’t possibly love her back properly. He’s fine with his sense of reality. Well, that is until Mischa comes along.

So what are these shitty things I hear you ask? Well, I’m not telling you but they do border on irresponsible Dom territory. It almost made me lose a little respect for him (OK, I did for a while) but I do love to see a dumbass of a man fall. I forgave him by the end because his positives far out-weighed the negative; his attitude towards her personality won me over.

Mischa is what made this story different. I have seen feisty subs before but none quite like Mischa. She is a bit of a pain slut, which fits well with Connor, and she is literally willing to try anything. There is a safe word, it is all consensual but she doesn’t really put down any hard limits at first. She actively badgers Connor to take her to the BDSM club because she wants to play in public, freely admitting to a man she recently met what her kinks are. It’s refreshing because I would expect to see these types of conversation happen in club play scenes, but I was astounded to see it just in everyday conversation. She was an easy heroine to like for me, but I have always liked brashy heroines. She doesn’t even try to deny her feelings for Connor; yes they scare her and she tries to run from them, but they are still there! I admired her ability to accept everything about herself, no matter how controversial.

The sex scenes in this book were indescribable. Sex scenes with sadists and masochists have to be written really well to make me hot because I’m at the other end of the spectrum. These scenes were written very very well and had me fanning myself at regular intervals; Connor CERTAINLY knows how to give a girl what she needs. Another thing I loved about this book was Eve’s exploration into “Bottoming out”. I hadn’t ever read much about it before, but it was very intriguing to read about. Mischa hit subspace really quickly with Connor every time and, because of this, she bottomed out. This mean’t that she became incredibly emotional and pretty much inconsolable every time they had sex. I’ve never read any book with these themes before... It certainly brought a new angle to the aftercare side.

Overall, this is an excellent addition to the series. If you love hard-playing Dom’s falling hard, read this book. If you love feisty heroines with the balls to ask for what they need, read this book. If you love your BDSM hard, gritty and emotional then read this book. If you like all of the above, there is a high probability you will love this book. I know I did.(less)

Fabulous conclusion to the Edge series from Eve Berlin. Again, you could read this as a stand-alone but it is more enjoyable to understand the background of the secondary characters. I really enjoyed this love story. Yeah, it's erotic, but that only makes it better. Highly recommend if you are looking for some hot love. In fact, I would highly recommend that you start with the first in this series and read them all. Maybe, not one after the other, unless you want to go up in flames.

I'm deluded by this third book of Edge series, I think is too long and the character of two protagonists are little development and differently by last there is too BDSM stuff and little story. Sincerely I was expecting more from Misch and Connor is too rigid and gruff.

The beginning,bits and pieces in the middle and the end were terrific! But some parts were just too much for me. It got a bit to plain. The ending though was awesome. I loved the beginning as well as it sucked me right in. Over all a great read.
