I really liked this book! I read it out loud to my sister because she had it as a school assignment. It was actually written by her history teacher (not the teacher to set the assignment). He was planning on writing a story with all the historical facts exactly right but he said he got to carried away and so it changed into a fantasy story.
I think it was a great story, the only thing that made me sceptical is when I heard that Björkelid doesn't actually care about the two protagonists. He just...more
Amazing scandinavian fantasy - you'll get chills and look over your shoulder! Great eerie and very catching!

I'm listening to the Audiobook.
Quite unique book, although a bit strange and even frustrating at times. Still a good read though - and I jumped directly to the second installment.
The overall fell of the universe is strongly scandinavian.
All my girls really liked it (ages 7 - 11). The story has a nice flow but the Danish translation unfortunately doesn't. A more dark Nordic fantasy realm, than usual for childrens litterature.

The cold drips of the pages and you simply can't put it down. Lots of dark northern mythology is weaved in this eerie fantasy tale. Can't wait for the sequel.

Maybe I'm too old for the book, or the fact that it was a really slow read. But that is what I think.
I miss Reading this book... :/
