Do you long for something more in your relationship with God?

The good news is that “something more” does not mean “doing more.” God is not waiting for you to get your spiritual life “right.” He wants to be with you right where you are.

The real question is not “What does God want from you?” but “What does God want for you?”

Sharon Jaynes understands what it’s like to have a...more

A Sudden Glory

I love reading a book by author Sharon Jaynes; she is a wonderful speaker, author and woman of God. It seems that she knows what I am going through every time I pick up one of her books. A Sudden Glory was no different, it is a must read for all woman.
Sharon uses her own personal stories and the word of God to teach us about “a glory ache.” What is a glory ache you ask? Sharon describes a glory ache as being a persistent longing to experience God’s presence on a daily basis. I know...more

A Sudden Glory is an almost poetic book, the theme of this book being that God pursues us, that God shows us His Glory, that we have a Glory Ache, a longing for God to fill. God pursues us for He has been pursuing the human heart through the centuries, as Sharon reminds us. "The entire Bible from Genesis Three to Revelation 22:21 is a record of God's passionate pursuit of the human heart. Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, a string of kings both good and bad, intermingl...more

I was given a copy of A sudden Glory to read for review through blogging for books. I really cant tell you how much I loved this book, This is the kind of Christian book I long to read. This should actually be required reading for all Christians new and old because you will get so much out of it and each page is filled with tons of wisdom.

Sharon Jaynes is such a fantastic writer, this book helps you understand that the question is not What does God want from you, but rather what does God want f

So I reluctantly chose A Sudden Glory- God's Lavish Response to Your Ache for Something More as a book to read for review. Why was I reluctant? After all Sharan Jaynes is an international speaker and author of 17 books. She served as vice president and radio co-host of Proverbs 31 Ministries for ten years...stop right there. I just thought to myself, without realizing it, another Christian Woman book. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Blah. But still, something in the description compelled me to choose it de...more

Sharon Jaynes in her new book, “A Sudden Glory” published by Waterbrook Press shows us God’s Lavish Response to Your Ache for Something More.

I really tried to enjoy this book, but it is a book that I was forced to sit down and read. I’d carry it with me with the intention of reading, but I’d read a few pages and not feel it pull me in further to read. Maybe I just didn’t try hard enough, or perhaps my head was “cleared” enough to read it.

That said, the description of the book is what lured me in. I think as women, we all have an ache in our souls, and her description of the glory ache made me want to read more. But again, every time...more

I was unsure of what to expect from this book, but it was a really good look at God's desires for us in this life. Who among us hasn't had the thought "is this all there is?" at one time or another. The author meditated on one verse of scripture for an entire year and this is the main theme of the book, although she weaves numerous scripture references throughout. She shares personal testimonies and stories from others' lives as well.

I wouldn't call it an easy read exactly as it is full of thou...more

There has only been one other book by Sharon Jaynes that I have read, and that was "The Power of a Woman's Words", which I thought was excellent and had many wonderful lessons that were timely for me. The same is true for this new title, "A Sudden Glory." For this book, I needed to take time to read slowly and deliberately; Sharon shares so many wonderful stories and truths that you won't want to rush through this quickly.

Sharon shares what it means to have a "glory ache" and how we always seem...more

Those magical, uplifting moments when you feel Gods love and presence - a sudden glory! This book is for women who need reassurance and redirection in and towards God. It takes you on a journey through Sharons life and experiences. She shares her stories, influences and the scriptures that helped and guided her relationship with God.
I liked this book a lot. I think I may be a little biased in saying that it reminded me of Joyce Meyers book "How to Hear From God." It was repetitious for me but di...more

Sharon Jaynes keeps her wonderful style of writing in her latest release "A Sudden Glory." The warmness of Jaynes is felt throughout the book while she delves into a topic that each woman understands.

Into Chapter 5 of 10...leading a Sunday class through this. The ladies are raving, the book is wonderful. I love Sharon Jayne's depth and ability to clarify what she has learned from the Lord. We went through What God Really Thinks About Women a couple of years back and I fell more in love with Jesus through that study than ever in 24 years. His heart for women is really astounding! A Sudden Glory is a perfect follow-up to the former because of it's clear message of God's desire for intimacy and...more
