I am re-reading the classic Trout Fishing in America by Richard Brautigan. The Louisiana Purchase is a bit like a 21st century Trout Fishing in America. And more. Much more. It has elements of the best of the new American surrealism (think Octopus books, Wave Books, Black Ocean books etc.. But be careful.
