Animals, like humans, can sometimes get themselves into a lot of mischief. This book tells some true stories of animals misbehaving and the incredible things that happen. The first story is about an orangutan named Fu Manchu who could outsmart all the zookeepers and kept managing to escape from his enclosure. It turns out that Fu had a LOT of tricks up his sleeve! The second story is about a dog named Peggy who gets in a lot of trouble - she even sets a house on fire! - but her family just loves ...more

Ape Escape and more true stories of animals behaving badly by Aline Newman is a collection of true stories. Each story is told in three chapters with interesting facts in information throughout. The first is about a orangutan, Fu Manchu who likes mischief and escaping. It's pretty amazing to read how resourceful and smart he is. The second is an amazing survival story about Peggy, a naughty dog who brings so much joy to a family they can't imagine a life with out her. And the third story is ...more

My 7 year old is an avid reader of fiction, but it's a bit more challenging t

In APE ESCAPES! you'll meet Fu Manchu, the orangutan escape artist; Olivia the "cat" burglar; and Peggy the mischievous pup. You can follow along on their true adventures as they create chaos, engage in hilarious hijinks, and charm their way into everyone's hearts. But this book never would have happened if it hadn't been for two strangers in England who helped me locate Peggy's owners. One trolled through Facebook. The other actually knocked on doors. It's people like them, as well as the other ...more

This was a good book but it went on for too long and got kind of boring towards the middle of each story.
