Despite all her efforts to comprehend the notion of romantic love, it has remained an utterly foreign concept to her. Resigned to the life of a spinster, Alicia is therefore stunned when she receives a marriage proposal from the highly eligible bachelor, Lord Carstairs. ...unti ...more

Who isn’t fascinated by the Fae. The legends tell of frightening beautiful people with strong magic. As with everything in life there must be a balance, so what could have been the balance to these powerful beings? Day has created a wonderful mix of paranormal, historical, and romance in answer to that.

Alicia has been under a spell, sort of fairy tale like already isn’t it. Her very self has been hidden deep in the mist until she meets Edward and is freed. Edward is no average gentleman

Recommends it for: Historical Romance Lovers
A quite interesting concept with an enjoyable execution. I loved the idea of an underground Society made of Sorcerer’s, Catalysts, and Seers fighting the good fight against the over-glamorized and extremely dangerous Fae. The story feels like a cross between Sleeping Beauty and Alice in Wonderland only in a very twisted and sexual way. It surpasses mere steaminess and entered into much more graphic territory than what I was expecting. Alicia and Edward enjoy exploring each other and testing the ...more

“Fascinated” by Marissa Day continues her tale of a Regency England that is populated by Sorcerors and Catalysts as well as non-magical humans. Edward Randall, Baron Carstairs is part of a club of magic users who work for the Crown to help protect England against the depredations of the Fae. He has resigned himself to a practical loveless marriage with the unremarkable Alicia Hartwell and is startled to realize that his complacent bride-to-be has a decided interest in certain lascivious activiti ...more

Edward Randall, Baron Carstairs, is no ordinary gentleman. He's a member of an elite group of people with magical powers who serve and protect the Crown from the Fae, a very powerful and deadly enemy who want to conquer and rule the world. Baron Carstairs is what's known as a Catalyst, which means he has the ability to draw magic from the earth and channel it to Sorcere

Fascinated is the first book by Marissa Day I have read, and I can say I will be looking for more!! This is a whole new take on London, magic, and the Fae. I have read other books with these in it, but never with such an erotic twist.

Alicia has been closed off from her heart and all her emotions since she was a small child, but when she interacts with her fiancé she starts to have strange feelings. Although she is still closed off in what she cal

Grade: C

“One of the most powerful ways for a Catalyst to transfer power to his Sorceress is through the sexual act.”

Edward Carstairs is not only a high ranking member of English society but he is also part of a secret group of magic users who help protect England. As a Catalyst Edward can gather magic from the earth and send it to a Sorcerer to use to battle the Fae. Edward’s main goal is protecting England but society pressures that he marry so he picks the one woman wh

Wow! I was not expecting to enjoy this read as much as I did. First of all the cover was deceiving to me in a way. This is an erotic, paranormal, historical romance story. Although I love the cover, I was not expecting that. I love when genres mix and this one was a combination we don't see too often because the paranormal aspect of the book was the fae and magic. Something I don't get to read enough about and when done right it always intrigues me.

It's a raunchy historical paranormal novel which means that there is plenty of not very good sex scenes and minimal amount of plot and character development.

I've read it because it's very short and easy, but did I enjoy it? No.

My problem is that I couldn't see much spark, no character depth. They were just token characters. Lord Carstairs is such and such... Include handsome, powerfully build, angsty and aloof. Check. Lady Alicia is such and such... Beautiful, innocent and very willing to go for
