Si fa una grande quiete quando uno di questi grandi ha parlato. Noi ascoltiamo. Poi, troppo presto, la vita ci travolge di nuovo nel suo frastuono.

Il libro, molto breve, ma complesso, è composto di tre sezioni:
1. il discorso che Schönberg tenne a Praga;
2. un articolo di Werner Hofmann;
3. alcune lettere che Schönberg inviò a Mahler.

He was an Austrian composer, associated with the expressionist movement in German poetry and art, and leader of the Second Viennese School.
