I loved it!

I instantly fell in love with Jake as it was obvious that he was a sexy dominant man but had issues and insecurities but kept those from Sophie. When combined with Sophie’s issues and insecurities it made a story that was full of angst which I really liked.

Poor Sophie felt the ‘invisible’ member of her family and had been in love with Jake for years but knew that she just wasn’t in his league and wasn’t the type of girl he would normally go for. Jake was considered to be a bit of a ba...more

One of my favorite themes is the ever-poignant friends-to-lovers storyline.

The best part of this storyline, in my opinion, is the balance point, the metamorphoses of a friendship into something more. Bella Andre’s I Only Have Eyes for You seems to rush past the shift in thinking that characterizes this moment.
Sophie, one of the 8 Sullivan siblings, has loved her brother's friend Jake since she was 5 years old. Her love has grown and changed with her own development, but Jake has never acknowledged her as a woman. At one of her brother’s wedding, Sophie decides to shake things up and make Jake reevaluate his preconceptions.
"I told them all I wanted was to have fun with the hairdresser and makeup artist. But I was lying to them. And to myself.” She looked him straight in the eye. “I did it for you, Jake. To see if I could finally get you to notice that I was alive. To see that I’m not a little girl anymore with a silly crush. That I’m a woman.”
It was at this point in the novel that Andre lost me. We’re told Sophie loves Jake. We’re told Jake has struggled to conceal his growing interest in his best friend’s sister. Then the sexytimes commence.
There’s no chance for tension to build, no opportunity to learn about the characters ourselves, before they’re succumbing to their passion.
This seemed premature to me. Besides, what could possibly keep the plot afloat after their raptures end? The answer: Low self esteem, a secret and a plot twist or two.
“Everyone is wondering what the hell a guy like me is doing in a place like this with a girl like you. I should be washing your dishes, not sharing them.”
Despite climbing out of an abusive relationship with his father and becoming a restaurant tycoon, Jake seems to harbour some serious insecurities. For that matter, so does Sophie, for all she's described as,
...sensual and bright, sexy and sweet, a thousand contradictions wrapped up into one irresistible package.
This is perhaps understandable, given the fact that they are surrounded by a truly elite group of friends and family. Sophie’s brothers number a world traveling photographer, a firefighter, a pro ball player, a movie star, two tycoons and her sister the choreographer. I think it’s safe to say there has never existed a family more intimidating.
Maybe this feeling of inferiority would have been surmountable if Jake's Big Secret didn't compound matters.
Given the nature of secrets and plot twists, I hesitate to describe them to people who haven’t read the book. I will say that Jake has some serious similarities to Tim Riggins. His struggles have only made him stronger, if only he could see it for himself.
We aren’t given much of a view into his childhood but it seems clear this man has overcome incredible odds. He escaped his abusive, alcoholic father by spending much of his childhood with Sophie's family. After buying an interest in the pub in which he worked as a young man, he goes on to own a series of successful restaurants around the Bay Area. Despite all he has accomplished, his insecurities get in the way of his relationship with Sophie, and he manages to mess things up.
Eventually, Sophie and her plot twist bring the couple together again. It is immediately clear to Jake that this development changes everything and he sets about trying to convince Sophie to give him a second chance. In this, at last, we are allowed to learn more about the two characters. Sophie shares her love of reading, her frustration with being an over-protected little sister to some larger-than-life personalities. Jake finally begins to relax and reveals his Big Secret to Sophie.
Together, they explore this new territory of trust. With plenty of sexytimes thrown in for good measure.
I know that Sarah of Smart Bitches, Trashy Books really enjoyed this book, enough to choose it as part of her Sizzling Book Club. I love her blog and really respect her taste even when it differs from mine. True, this book largely skipped my favorite part of the character's emotional journey, but it did substitute some serious emotional issues. In the end, I wish Andre had delved a little further into the characters, no matter what the focus. Regardless, I know there will be readers who fall in love with this story and its indomitable heroes.

I loved this book! Sophie is the youngest Sullivan sibling. She's been in love with Jake McCann since she was five years old. Jake is known as the ninth Sullivan and has always acted like an older brother to Sophie (little did she know Jake's feelings for her weren't brotherly). :)

I fell in love with Gabe Sullivan in the last book and worried that Irishman Jake wouldn’t live up because he simply wasn’t a Sullivan. WOW, was I wrong! There is so much more to Jake McCann than I could ever anticipate. Bella Andre delved into his character so deep that countless times throughout this book, I wanted to cry. Jake simply broke my heart.

This book was a roller coaster ride of emotions – I pined right alongside Sophie, I grew angry and frustrated like Jake, I cried when their hearts shattered and I rejoiced when true love prevailed. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better from the last book, I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU comes along and proved me completely wrong. This is definitely one of my favorite books of 2012.

Possibly my favourite thing about this series is that it is focuses on not just the romantic relationship, but also on family. I just adore family-based series. However, there is one other thing I may love more....and that is hot sex – and guess what, this book has that too!

So make room, Gabe Sullivan, because Jake McCann is the newest member of my hottie harem!(less)

OMG- this is my favorite yet.

I love Sophie - period - she's a sweet person, who doesnt scream for attention; who love books and her librarian life but that doesnt mean she's meek. In fact she's strong, knows her heart and even mischievious. This book showed many of her naughty sides.

Sophie does manage to seduce him the night of her brother Chase's wedding. They have amazing sex and she confesses her love. Jake can't deal with that because he knows he doesn't deserve someone as special as Sophie. So he sneaks out of the bed while she is sleeping and disappears from her life.

But Sophie isn't able to write him off and move on. Besides a broken heart he left a heck of a souvenir—Sophie is pregnant. When she goes to tell him and to tell him that she doesn't want anything from him, his world is rocked. He finally has a chance to have everything he has always wanted but was afraid to even dream he could have. All he has to do is convince Sophie to give him another chance.

But Sophie is no longer Nice. She knows what she wants and what she deserves and marrying a man who is choosing her only because she is pregnant is not what she wants. Jake has his work cut out for him before these two find their own happy ending.

I fell in love with both Sophie and Jake and think any other romance reader will too. (less)

Let me start by just saying WOW. This book to me by surprise and in the best way ever!

This is the fourth book in the Sullivan series, but I had no trouble jumping in and follow the story. Each book futures a couple and this book belonged to Sophie. Sophie is the sensible, sweet and innocent part of a pair of twins. All her life she’s been looking at Jake, hoping that he finally will notice her. Little does she know that he’s been looking at her his entire life, and trying his hardest to stay the hell away. First of all, you don’t mess with your best friend's sister and second he doesn’t believe he’s good enough for her. As a child, he’s been running around playing/hanging out with her brothers, sometimes getting in to more trouble than he should. As an adult he’s been busy with his bars and running after one-night-stands that he almost made himself believe that Sophie wasn’t important to him. Almost, but not quite.

Sophie turns the table on him on her big brother wedding and Jake realizes he’s in big, big, BIG trouble. But honestly the way Sophie seduces him – no wonder he caves! It is what happens afterward that makes me want to strangle him on the spot.

Sometimes I read contemporary romance, but there goes some time in between. Guess I like my romance with a touch of magic, shapeshifters, witches, vampires, demons and what else my favorite authors can throw at me. That said I really enjoyed reading this book, so much that I bought the first one in the series, The Look of Love.

There are clichés in this book, but for me they’re not huge elephants that keeps stomping around and you can’t ignore. But there is one thing that bothered me a little bit. Jake's secret. Personally, I don’t find his secret horrible and shameful, and I repeatedly wanted to reach out and strangle him for causing distance between them, instead of just admitting it to Sophie. I caught his secret before she did.

That said I still felt this book was fun and enjoyable to read. Sophie and Jake are both just as stubborn, hot-tempered, dedicated and are wonderful people. I loved their story, they have known each other their entire life, but haven’t been truly integrated with each other.

I HAVE EYES ONLY FOR YOU is a very enjoyable book with a lot of character development that shows that one should never judge a book by its cover.

My favorite romance novels aren't my favorites because of the action, or the witty dialogue, or the steamy love scenes. Or at least not mainly because of those things. This is the first book that I have read of Ms. Andre’s; I was not disappointed and have found a new author. Although this book is well written and can obviously stand on its own, in my opinion, I am going to go out and get the first three in the series just to catch up on the rest of the family.

Sophie Sullivan, librarian, madly in love with Jake McCann since she was five has decided that she has waited long enough for him, deciding to stop being Ms. Nice Guy and go after what she wants. Sophie has always been one to hide in the shadows; reserved, quite not wanting to draw attention to her. After all she has a twin sister, Lori, who seemed to strive for the attention and six hunky brothers that were all successful, so yes it seemed easier to just melt into the woodwork.

To her a librarian was safe, she could read her books and find the fulfillment to her fantasies or so she thought. It was getting harder trying to keep herself away from her brother Zach’s best friend Jake and someone the others thought of as a brother.

Jake with a past has always noticed that Sophie was smart and beautiful but knew she was off limits to him because of his friendship to Zach. Besides who wanted not one but six massive brothers to beat the crap out of him even he were to hurt their sister and that is exactly what he knew he would do.

Sophie’s brother Chase is getting married and she is thrown together with Jake as they work on the wedding together making it hard to ignore the underlying feelings that have been suppressed for years between them. Sophie decides to take matters into her own hands. She decides a makeover is in order for Chase’s wedding. As she walks down the aisle Jake not only takes notice but you can almost see his mouth drop open, drool sliding down the side of it.

I loved this story about two very passionate people finding a love that was always there but neither had the strength to bring it to the forefront. I loved the strength and beauty in the quietness of Sophie and how once she gripped her inner strength she decided to take control and go after what she wanted.

This is such a well written book from cover to cover, with well-rounded characters that are very believable. You go through a gauntlet of emotions as you feel the anguish of Sophie, wanting to reach out and smack Jake telling him to grow-up.

Romance at its best a must read with sensual romance, sexy men, emotions and a loving family. I love, love, loved it! I am sitting her waiting for Zach’s story but until then I am going to go read the other three and catch up on the Sullivan family.

The thing about predictable romance novels is that sometimes the "I know exactly how this will go" stuff turns out rather dull. But in I Only Have Eyes for You, which is part of Andre's Sullivan Series, predictability does not necessarily mean boring. It means sweet and fun, and it packs some hot headboard rocking. Bella Andre knows her way around love scenes, my friends. Sophie and Jake enjoy their way around a bar stool, a swimming pool and a few different beds. She may be a librarian, but Sophie has no problem taking her clothes off and demanding sexual satisfaction from Jake. And he has no problem pleasuring her.

If we don't know as much as we'd like about Sophie and Jake - what we do find out is predictable and generalized - it is difficult to get too frustrated, because we do feel like we get to know them. He's the bad boy bar owner, she's the book loving librarian. Jake is far more stereotypical than Sophie, but you've seen characters like them and read stories like this before.

I haven't read other books in the Sullivan Series, but I imagine they are as nimble and fast-paced as I Only Have Eyes For You. This is a quick read that will leave you feeling warm and cozy.(less)

The plot is basic: Sophie Sullivan, one of the two youngest Sullivans, has been in love with her brother's friend Jake practically her whole life. She thinks Jake doesn't know she's alive. Jake, on the other hand, is a Bad Boy (TM) and doesn't think he's good enough for Sophie. I'm sure category romance readers won't be shocked to know that Jake is also in love with Sophie, just afraid to tell her because she "deserves" someone better. Their one night of headboard-bashing action after her older brother's wedding results in -- wait for it -- an unexpected pregnancy. Jake asks Sophie to give him seven days to prove she should marry him.

Tropes: unearned angst, failed condoms resulting in unexpected pregnancies, big brothers wanting to beat up their friend for defiling their baby sister, Bad Boy with Nice girl (to the point where the family NAMED HER NICE. I can't make this up. She's Nice. Her twin is Naughty. I wanted to hire a therapist for characters IN A BOOK.)

The ultimate secret that Jake is hiding from Sophie is nearly laughable, but not so much as some of the erotic scenes, which, while not nearly as bad as the hoax, aren't exactly something I'd personally find titillating. An example from my status updates: "Sophie threw her head back and held onto him like she was going for rodeo queen and he was the prized bull that was going to clinch her the title." I'm not sure about you, but a rodeo is not something I really want to be picturing during lovemaking. Add in Sophie's unexpected climaxes (three in the first two love scenes) and I was convinced the girl had no idea what she was doing in the sack.

This was a light, fun read -- suitable for beach reading -- but I found it hard to take seriously as erotica of any sort.(less)

Jake was a torn individual, with his past, his circumstances, secrets he held, he knew Sophie couldn't be his. Sophie was a strong character despite what everyone believed about her. She wanted to make her own decisions and for everyone to respect them. When Jake and Sophie find themselves in a bit of a situation, that is when her character really blossoms and her relationship or non-relationship with Jake begins to be tested.

I loved this book; book was well written, characters were great! It was so romantic, thinking about the love you've been longing for so many years finally coming together. I loved these two characters and you couldn't help but root for them and wish for them to overcome any obstacles that were thrown their way. Very sexy as well! I also enjoyed very much catching up with the rest of the Sullivan clan from previous books. This is a very enjoyable series and I can't wait to read about Zach's story next!(less)

This book was decent for the most part. I do feel like it did not realize its potential. I like the friends to lovers theme. I like the unrequited love theme. I like the falling in love with your brother's best friend theme. This book didn't really take advantage of any of them. The writing was not bad but I felt that the plot was not really tight. The rest of this review is what I would tell this author if I was in a critique group with her. There are major spoilers so read at your own peril.

That all sounds harsh. It really wasn't bad it just needed polish and some thought to making the plot and motivations tighter.
