"Being Delta Grayson, Medical Doctor, I knew how to make my cuts: jagged and filthy."

"Evil leaked from his pores like bad acne."

I tried, because I found the description intriguing. But this book reads like an unedited rough draft.

"My deep set green hues stared back at me with exhaustion clearly visable."

It reads alternately like the author is either trying too hard or not trying hard enough. Sadly, it seems that if this book had been edited a little better it might be a passable bargain read.

The first line of this book is, “Body disposal was my least favorite part of protecting my cornbread fed town.” If that isn't an attention grabbing opening line I don't know what is. The main character and narrator Delta is a strongly independent woman who hides inside herself an angry monster as well as a vulnerable soul. Small Town Unwound is the first installment by Kim Karter in the Dr. Delta Grayson series. The first line of this book is, “Body disposal was my least favorite part of protecting my cornbread fed town.” What follows will not only grab your attention, but strangle it into submission.

Next, being the first in a series, I look for a good ending. Small Town Un

I was lucky enough to win this book from the Goodreads giveaways.

Putting a star rating on it was very hard. The story is gripping and the characters are interesting, I did not want to put the book down. It has a five star potential. There was only one weak part and that would drop it to a four star.

The actual writing components were the problem. I don't think there was one page without a spelling or usage error. In some places, it read like it had been edited by auto-correct. It was very distrac
