I definitely don't regret reading this book at all. It was so real and intense. I do have to admit that I had to struggle through the middle part of the book. By then the theme of I-want-to-save-my-daughter-but-can-I-really-do-what-I'm-being-asked-of becomes kind of annoying. That being said, the beginning and ending are page turners and I'm very happy I didn't set the book down with no intention of picking it back up.

I have to confess that in this summer of reading one thriller after another I had to put this one aside half way through: it was just too much! Confronted with the question how far one would go to save the life of a loved one was simply too much! However, for the less squeamish this is one heck of a thriller and a chilling introduction into Algerian contemporary history and politics...
