I loved the first book Equilibrium so was slightly disappointed in the second book of the series. This had nothing to do with the actual story or the characters but rather a feeling that I was reading a brief epilogue rather than a fuller story. I was expecting a more significant story with some drama. This book was more a short and sweet conclusion to the story of Michael and Ryan, making the HFN more definite.

4.5 stars What a fitting and wonderful sequel to the "Equlibrium" book. I read both books back to back, which made the impact perhaps bigger. Michael's character development let me believe in their HEA:))

So, book 1 pissed me off a little. Book 2 placated me ... a little. I was happy to learn that Michael (view spoiler). Kudos there. Plus, I'm a sucker for holiday stories involving family (double yay). Michael and Ryan's exchange of Christmas gifts was sweet and touching.

Bottom line: This one redeemed book 1 ... a little.

A sequel to Equilibrium, set during the Christmas holiday and two weeks after the end of the book. This story helps solidify the guys' relationship and adds some closure to a couple parts of the book. It's also a good story about family.

An epilogue to Equilibrium really as it is set only a few weeks from the end of book 1 and ties up a few hanging story plots. Probably not one to read as a standalone on that basis. I read it straight after finishing Equilibrium and it rounded that book off nicely.
Ryan and Michael are still the main characters but we see all the bit part actors from Equilibrium and it gives a nice as happy ending as two gay guys can get whilst living in the depths of the Aussie country.

Great little epilogue slash Christmas story set right after Equilibrium. It makes Michael's and Ryan's HEA that much more believable, dealing with a few issues that weren't fully resolved in the first book. If you've read Equilibrium, this one's a must read!!

A scientist in a past life, these days Meredith Shayne mainly uses her scientific training to poke holes in television pseudoscience. Originally from Australia, she moved to New Zealand a few years ago and hasn't regretted it for one minute, even if she frequently wishes that the New Zealand weather was a little better. Meredith travels a lot, so much so that she has developed a shameful love of a ...more
