I read these stories on a Saturday night after a really long week. I found myself looking forward to each short story as soon as I finished the one I was reading. It was the perfect way to end the weak and I had it read in one sitting. Here were a few of my favorite stories in this anthology:

Declarations of Dependence by Margaret Ethridge This opened the collection and set the tone perfectly for the rest of the stories. Ellie and Jack have been together for awhile, and she's finally brought him...more

Summer Shorts is a collection of super short, easy to read, sweet romances. As with any anthology, there were hits and misses but overall I found this to be quite enjoyable. I find sweet romance to be a welcome genre when I am simply looking to feel a bit nostalgic. I like these because they make me feel like I did when I first started dating. That rush of emotions when you first make eye contact. The first kiss and how there are explosions inside your head when your lips touch theirs. It’s not...more

This was an anthology with summer as its theme. There were 8 stories by 7 different authors. I was surprised one author - Terry - contributed 2. I have read stories by Ethridge, Barrett and Terry before so it was nice to see them included. No stories played up the same angle so the book was an interesting read that kept my attention from the first. There was romance, laughter, lots of conflict and some tense moments but each was headed towards a...more

Read this and loved it back when it wasn't 28 degrees outside, but apparently I had a senior moment and forgot to add it to my list.

As always, my reason for loving it lies with our own Charles Dickens of romance, Margaret Ethridge. Once again we're treated to another chapter in the on-going relationship of Ellie and Jack, the characters first thrown together last Christmas when they were forced to endure a snow-bound airport shutdown. We've been breathlessly awaiting each holiday update of their...more

Such a sweet and sexy collection of stories perfect for summer reading! The story that stood out most for me was Margaret Ethridge's 'Declaration of Dependence'. Six months into their long-distance relationship, Jack and Ellie are hotter than ever in this fun-in-the-sun adventure. Things really heat up when Jack meets the Nichols family and he's grilled more than the burgers. My favourite line award goes to this little gem: “I’m so nuts about you I do crazy things like keep you in bed all mornin...more

I was missing summer so I grabbed the Summer Shorts anthology I got this past summer.

Margaret Ethridge lives with a sweet-talking Southern gentleman who claims to be her lawfully-wedded husband. She is the (not-so-wicked-but-she-has-her-moments) step-mother to their two children, the adoring mistress of three spoiled dogs, the food purveyor to eleven hungry goldfish, and the comic foil for one rather impertinent house rabbit who thinks he rules the roost.
