*I GENEROUSLY RECEIVED THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW FROM READ IT & REAP*

This book was HOT HOT HOT!

A nice easy read, didn’t require any thinking, which was nice for a change. When I first picked up the book I thought it was going to be an adult Twlight, but I was very wrong. This blew Twilight completely out of the ball park!

The story was well developed, as were the characters. The sex scenes were very hot! Damon has now become my newest literary crush. There’s just something about a guy...more

Damon is an exciting, edge of your seat joy ride you do not want to end. The characters are real, sexy, fun and kick butt. Teresa Gabelman had me smiling, giggling, hot and bothered and even a little sad. Teresa Gabelman is now one of my favorite authors that I will auto buy anything she writes.

Teresa Gabelman has open up a whole new world for Paranormal Romance fans. I have read tons of Vampire books and this is by the far the most realistic Vampire book I have read. In Damon vampires are not...more

Damon is Dark Lover meets Twilight meets the Sookie Stackhouse Series. It is almost like the author decided to take traits from each of the different vampires in these series and roll it into the group of vampires in this book. It was a easy, fast,& sexy read however I found myself recognizing a lot of different elements in the characters from the books mentioned above. The storyline was interesting however somewhat predictable. I would like to know how Nicole or is it Nichole(the author spel...more

I immediately liked the main female character Nicole. She's very easy to like with her very quick and easy comebacks, no-nonsense attitude and her compassion. I love a strong female protagonist, and with Nicole, she easily fits the mould. It was with the introduction of her character, that I knew that 'Damon' was going to be a book that would keep me hooked.

What I didn't quite realise, was just how hooked I would be. I read 'Damon' in just one sitting; it was that...more

You often hear the term “Just another Vampire story”. Well Teresa Gabelman has provided readers with a fresh take on this sometimes assumed to be over-exposed genre.
I personally love Vampire tales, but due to the volume available, I am also quite picky in my choices.
In this new series, Vampires are known to the public as they “came out” two years prior and live among the human race. The Protectors are the elite warriors class of Vampires, tasked with the wellbeing and safety of not only their ow...more

I'm really glad I stuck with it because it surprised me with how much I liked it.

Nicole is a social worker and Damon is a vampire who along with some other warriors works with humans to stop the exploitation of child vampires (in a nutshell).

At the beginning, I thought I wasn't going to like Nicole. She was coming off TSTL, smart mouthy and I wasn't warming up to her. I found the plotline to be a bit corny and had to suspend belief to go along with it. Example: A crisis situation at a...more

Good little read.

Terrific characters and a reasonably good plot. All the things required for a good story. Just thinking about it, I want to read book two, and I probably will.

The only thing that has let me, the reader down, and therefore Ms. Gableman, is the editing.

The spellchecking has been done, but where the word needed to be corrected to say 'has' for example, it's been corrected to had. This seems to be standard throughout the book. To give you a more exact sample of what I me...more

Damon (The Protectors #1)
Rating: 3.5 Stars

Damon was a great start to what I anticipate will be a wonderful new series by Teresa Gabelman. Nicole lives in a world in which Vampires have just recently come out from hiding. As a social worker she has the HUGE responsibility now of not only placing human children in stable homes, but also newly turned vampire children. As the word gets out about vampire blood being...more

I loved the world of vampires that Teresa created. There was a couple of similarities with other vampire books, but they all take something from each other, so it really didn't matter too much. For example, there is mind reading and changing of eye colors. For the most part it was quite a different take on the vampire genre. An example of that is, vampires can feed off of other vampires instead of humans. I liked this difference and to me it made a lot of sense.

Damon is a warrior who is sworn to...more

Damon by Teresa Gableman started out quite good. The character, Nicole, is a smart, funny woman with an interesting job. But it quickly went downhill from there. With innumerable clichés at every page, the book was turning out to be a horrific mixture of all the popular Vampire books out there.

Damon is a tall, gorgeous vampire, with golden eyes that can turn black when he is pissed or hungry. He is gentlemanly, brooding and somewhat self loathing. Also, he can read people's mind excep...more

This was a nice book. It was a fast read. The story was a usual vampire story but author’s writing style made the read worth it.

Nicole is a social worker who had been in the system for the first eighteen years of her life herself. She loves children as she can relate to them and loves her work and could do it for free if it was not for the bills. She is a short woman who always puts others need before her own. Damon is a vampire warrior who has been sent to help Nicole and her co-workers in lear...more

It was a fast and easy read. The story was a usual vampire story but author’s writing style has potential.

Fantastic! A terrific start to a new series. Vampires have come forward and claimed their space in our world. Along with them, a new problem: human addiction to vampire blood, AKA Crimson Rush. Children are being turned into vampires to supply the new drug of choice, leaving social workers to try to clean up the mess of broken homes and child abuse. Nicole, having been a foster child herself, is passionate about saving these kids and finding safe homes for them. Damon and his league of Vampire W...more

Nicole lives in a world where humans and vampires co-exist. As someone who has been through the foster system themselves, Nicole now works as a social worker, helping other kids who are being fostered.

There are problems within the fostering system that are new though. People are draining vampires of their blood and selling it as an illegal drug called Crimson Rush, and now Nicole is getting herself into dangerous situations by randomly...more

Did this book change my life?

No

Did it make me think deeply?

Definitely No

Don’t think the author intended this to be a book to do either of those things. This is what this book was:

• HOT
• SEXY
• ACTION PACKED
• Attention grabbing right from beginning to end

A couple of things that bothered me –

• You (the author) are henceforth prohibited from using the word ‘shitkicker’ multiple times in your next book. I love the word Shitkicker. I know YOU love the word Shitkicker. But heck, you see it too often,...more

Damon (The Protector Series) tells the story of Nicole Callahan, a social worker working with vampire children fostered by human parents. If you want a relaxing steamy read then The Protectors Damon by Teresa Gabelman is the book for you. Fans of the genre will love this little gem set in the river city of Cincinnati. Teresa’s dialogue carries the book forward at a quick pace, and I think it could easily be turned into a movie script. I’m not complaining just informing. For the timid readers, it does contain sex, violence and profanity. Anyone who reads my books knows none of which bothers me personally. If you like vampires and h...more

Being a social worker can be dangerous business when vampires are part of the equation. And that's becoming clearer to Nicole every day. More and more often, she is encountering human foster parents who are stealing and selling the blood of vampire children. And they'll do almost anything to protect their dirty secret. So a group of vampire warriors has been called in to help train Nicole and her co-workers in self-defense. Almost immediately she is drawn to one of the men.

Damon swears he'll ne...more

Despite the few editing issues, which are not that hard to overcome, this was a very good story. I was intrigued by vampire children in the Human Social Services. Nicole is a very determined social worker who loves her job and the kids she is supposed to protect. As she was in the system as a youth, she knows exactly how it does work as opposed to how it is supposed to work. When vampire blood becomes the drug of choice, the VC Protectors come in to train the social workers how to protect themse...more

Damon was like a breath of fresh air in the vampire romance genre. I loved that Damon was what you expected a vampire to be like-tough, totally alpha, and out to protect Nicole. However, while Nicole might be tough as nails, I love that she's human and that she uses common sense to get done what needs to be done instead of a katana sword. :)

Nicole is a social worker, and in her world vampires have come out of hiding, and ever since there has been a problem with Crimson-vampire blood, being loose...more

WOW I have another favorite Author.
I got this book (kindle) by chance.... I COULD NOT put it down and ended up reading for 8hrs straight and finished it.
I was gripped by the first page. The characters are believable and well described. You can actually imagine it in your head. At times I even found myself laughing loudly at some of the banter between Damon and Jarod, or Nicole and Mitch or Damon and Nicole (the list is a bit long). Each character has depth and personality that are so critical to...more

This bloom didn't open all the way so I only got the fragrance of what could have been. Nicole is the heroine. She is a social worker in modern times watching over human and vampire children in foster homes. The vampire children are made and then used for their blood which is a potent street drug. It's a sad twist. Nicole is dedicated and ballsy. I liked her.

Vampires have gone public and are integrating with humans. For the most part they are law abiding citizens but even so, the bad guys need i...more
