A Gift of Trust is an erotic short story (61pages) about second chances. It's angsty, realistic, emotional, gripping, and well written. It's also the perfect story for a quick holiday read.
For the most part, I enjoyed this story. I really liked the interaction, dialogue, and chemistry between the hero and heroine, Matt and Lib.
Matt was a great hero. Unfortunately,I can't say the same for the heroine, Lib. Personally,I found Lib'sbehavior during most of the book frustrating. Her c...more

This was a fun and interesting read that bought a smile to my face from the beginning. The plot was excellent and captivating from the start with Matt and Libby running into each other again after three years. The dialogue was great, mixing serious with quirky, showing the great friendship Matt and Libby shared. The sex scenes were just right, revealing the years of feelings these two had for each other but never explored except for the once, and then again now. What I enjoyed so much about thes...more
Full disclosure, I won this book in a contest. But I entered the contest because I've read some of her other stuff and I luuurrrve it. So:
Jeanette is so good at reminding you, in short story time, about those angsty things that happen in love. She doesn't create a mood as much as tug at your memory, saying, "Oh dear lord remember when you felt THIS WAY?!" Gah. Yes, yes I do, thanks. This story isn't as smexy as some of her others, but the sex here is honest and true- no huge throbbing cocks and...more

I love short stories and/or novella's. They are usually the perfect little package when you want to read something short and sweet. Or short and naughty. Whichever the case may be. I'm also a huge fan of the "we used to be friends, a long time ago, but we lost touch" kind of thing too. Unrequited or unclaimed love, and all of that. It makes me swoon and my heart swell.
A Gift of Trust hit the spot when I went looking for something along those lines. Youn...more

I downloaded this short after the author joined the SFR Brigade and I saw the blurb on her web site. Although not Sci-Fi Romance, the premise intrigued me enough to give it a try.
I'm glad I did. This is a heartfelt story about remorse, lost love and second chances. I especially enjoyed the hero, though I felt the heroine had every right to be wary and questioning due to the pain he had caused her in the past.
I'm certainly looking forward to reading this author's SFR offerings in the future.

A short and sweet piece, perfect for Christmas time. Lib was extremely easy to relate to as a heroine, her fears and insecurities something that I think everyone feels at some point. And Matt. Oh, Matt. You had me at flecks of jade and tousled hair (my kryptonite).
Their journey was bumpy, but believable. The only thing I longed for was...well, more length. As it was, though, it ended on a very sweet note, and the epilogue had me grinning ear to ear.

A Gift of Trust is a short story, but it felt like a full length book to me. The author did a great job of conveying the couple's history to the reader. Their attraction and getting back together was very believable. This one also has some well written erotica scenes. The inclusion of an epilogue is something that I like to see even in a novella. It is nice to see how they HEA turns out.
