Recommends it for: satire appreciators
A fabulous satire of the popular travelogue of the time, Lady Helen captures an hysterical look into perceptions and misconceptions of the East, nevertheless maintaining the innocence of Ms. Gushington (and showing the villainous nature of nearly everyone else in the process). Illustrated with truly remarkable plates full of life and emotion and humor.
