INCREDIBLE PARANORMAL TWIST
I have to say, this is the best book I have ever read involving paranormal. Once I finished this unbelievable novel, I felt the same way I did after seeing the movie, Sixth Sense. The end took me by surprise and I love surprises.
I see now why, author, Jeff Bennington wanted me to read this exciting, mind bending, action packed novel. He knows how much I love all his ghostly writings and this one blew me away!

I absolutely fell head over heels for Detective Rick Burns. He is the nice guy, the stand-up brother, the son who tries to live up to his Dad's expectations. I actually would like to give this book 3.5 stars. I enjoyed the story and I didn't want to put it down. I will say, however, that this book is not for everyone. If you don't enjoy God/Satan supernatural story lines, then you probably won't like this book. Also some of the murder scene descriptions are a little graphic. I enjoy that, but I know some don't. This is the third book of Jeff's that I've read and each one is better than the last. I really liked the premise behind the story, and I would love to see the character of Rick continue on in more books.
Twisted Vengeance was a pretty good book. I especially enjoyed the first half -- building up the mystery. I knew what was going to happen at some parts, but others surprised me. It was all very suspenseful and I didn't want to put it down.

Cons: Took me awhile to get into it. The middle was really good, but then the ending was horrible. It's not that I always expect a happy ending, but I felt this came out of nowhere. Twisted Vengeance by Jeff Benington is a detective story that is dark, gritty and definitely twisted. Usually part of the enjoyment I derive from reading a detective-thriller murder mystery is figuring out who did the deed. This book us is definitely one that you won't be able to put down. From the first page to the end it will keep you guessing. There is a lot going on in this book but it flows so fluently that it's easy to read. The character development is wonderful, as is the plot. It was a little hard to rate this book. The story was engaging, and for the most part it was entertaining. But thinking about it, there were a few half metaphors sort of thrown in and not properly addressed. There were several times when activities for divisions were pointed out, but not addressed anymore. After reading it, there was a huge feeling of “what's going on? I’d read and reviewed Jeff’s supernatural thriller Reunion for this blog. not a bad book. not on a par with dean koontz or stephen king, but pretty solid reading. it's hard to make paranormal fiction believable, especially when working in an established genre. this is a noir detective story with some rather dramatic twists and turns. the characters, for the most part, are interesting and believable, though at times their actions and feelings made no sense to me. so with a few reservations, i would recommend this book to those who like creepy mysteries.
Pretend you're completely lucid. Your family has been broken, you love someone who doesn't love you and you're a policeman on a serial killer case. Now, add a ghostly boy who shows up and, "boom": you're now in a dream. Or are you still in reality? The juxtaposition of real and nightmare are mixed like a cake batter in this nail-biter. It's difficult to reveal too much, so take the trip (but don't read it in the dark!!) Thanks Mr. Bennington, for another chewed-up set of finger nails! LOL!!
This one was both interesting, and weird. At times it seemed normal, and then there was the supernatural part of it. The characters, Rick and Stella seemed to like each other part of the time, and then not. Rick was a police detective, and Stella, his dead brother's widow. Benjii was a strange little boy who always seemed to be around Violent death. I read it on my husband's Kindle.

Very good book, I couldn't put it down once I started reading. All the twists and turns keep the reader guessing and the story line is well written and interesting. It's easy to get caught up in the characters and loose track of time with this one. I highly recommend this one for a quick summer read that will give you chills on a hot summer day.
I liked this -- or, I liked Rick and Stella. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was truly happening, and kept second-guessing myself -- which is good, as a mystery reader that's what you want. I did skip ahead a few pages here and there to avoid the gritty spots. Some good twists, for sure. I will read the next one.

Interesting story, but the language struck me as if English was not this author's first language, or that maybe a bright child wrote it. I only finished it so I could read phrases to my husband for the laughs - many of the descriptive passages were hilarious. I was very disappointed after seeing all of the positive reviews. To each his own, I guess : )
Twisted Vengeance
is dark – and gritty – and scary, and not something I would normally read. Credit to Jeff Bennington for infusing the perfect complement of introspection and self-reflection. That Bennington could explore the human condition within this captivating thriller is proof of his writing talent. Jeff Bennington is an author to watch.
This was an excellent book! The supernatural elements were thrilling and the plot kept me guessing. The characters are developed very well and you genuninely care what is going to happen to them. It is a haunting read, very hard to put down!
Paranormal suspense at its best! I couldn't put this book down until I finished it. Very well crafted paranormal/ investigation story. Every time I thought I had it all figured out another character twist would be introduced.
For a free book, I should not be complaining! It was entertaining enough, a fairly complex plot with a couple of twists, though I felt they lacked the element of surprise that could have taken this book to the next level.
Not so much. It has moments but not enough for me to love it. For whatever reason, I figured it out at the beginning so it was tough to hang in there. Not exactly light reading but if you don't have anything else to do, it will suffice.
Great book if you are into supernatural mysteries. Smooth plot that keeps you reading until the very end. Plot twist at the end left me reeling, but in a perhaps good way.
