What happens when a group of authors end up spending time on Goodreads chatting about books, writing, publishing and a potpourri of other topics? Well, aside from not getting as much writing done as they could or should, a wonderful community was born. What is this gathering of the writing minds and where can I find it? Why, I am glad you asked my friend. This meeting of the minds can be found on Goodreads in the group Creative Reviews. Wait, you are a reader not...more

The best part about publishing a book is that people suddenly think of you differently. You are no longer a writer; you're a writer. And then everything changes. All of the sudden, you have all this cache. “Oh, he liked that book? Well it must be good. After all, he's a writer.” Next thing you know, people are asking you to write short stories for their anthologies. That's how I ended up writing a story for this anthology, Christmas Lites. And let me tell you, was I full of myself. I was the big...more
Looking for a meaningful gift? Look no further. This book gives on a number of levels. The anthology re-defines 'diversity'! There's everything from Santa Claus to zombies (yes, you read correctly - zombies and Christmas!). If you're not crazy about one genre, guaranteed the next story will be one you do like! Apart from the stories themselves is the story behind this book. A group of authors got together and decided to share time and talent to contribute to the well-being of others. The proceed...more
As an author/writer I have several regrets in my literary life, one of them is not contributing to this anthology. To me this is the very epitome of what an anthology should be, a three ring circus. By that I mean something for everybody. If you don't like the clowns than you will like the lions etc. There is a great array of writing styles and stories all centered around the endlessly magical time of christmas.

Seriously,
This book is awesome!
Not just because I was involved it in either! lol
EVERY SINGLE PENNY of this book is going towards the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
(ncadv.org)
If that isn't awesome enough, there are some fab stories in here for everyone!
Think of it as a book buffet if you will.
It's a great read and great cause!

Not only does this book benefit an extremely important cause, the stories will evoke the widest range of emotions. In fact, I just finished reading one that made me cry (hint: Boy and Dog). I plan to light a fire on Christmas Eve and read my favorites aloud to my family and friends. What a great gift! And now - I'm off to buy a few more copies.

“Reluctantly, he put his hand up to the cold glass. That odd tingling sensation raced through his body again. His ears began to hum and his head felt strange and heavy. Beneath his touch, the glass seemed to soften and his fingers made small indentions in the surface. ~ "The Mirror”

“Absently, Quinn reached for the sheet to replace it over the aged mirror, but the back of his hand brushed against the cold surface and a strange shiver ran up his arm and down his spine. ~ "The Mirror”
