Arthur Ranson's art, as ever, is a joy, his intricacy perfectly suited to the twisting architecture of Mazeworld; even the panel borders sometimes contain labyrinths of their own, and by that point you're starting to see even the lines of faces as shadow-mazes of their own. His demons, scoundrels and looming pyramids recall the ancient, decayed worlds of Clark Ashton Smith, and make one wish he'd illustrated some of Steve Moore's Smith-homaging Tales of Telguuth for 2000AD.
