This book is phenomenal in all respects...the depth of the author's thoughts and writing, the storyline, the history, and the eeriness of the plot will keep you up late into the night and will also have you checking to ensure your home is securely locked to keep out any shuffling feet, make you more aware of noises that happen in the middle of the night, and it may even have you checking under your bed for uninvited guests.

I really enjoyed this book - at least most of it.Every paragraph kept me riveted for most of this book. The brilliant detail of scene and character was extremely very well written. I felt like I was there, in the building, the attic, the treks. Intensity was also well portrayed.
It is 500 pages apparently - sometimes I savoured every word, couldn't wait for the next piece of the mystery. Occasionally, particularly nearer the end the historical and magical/spiritual perspective did not quite ring...more
