Accountable to None – Review

First let me just say this.... OLIN! Come here whilst I knock your head clean off, you jumped up, arrogant, abusive, self-centred tosser!

Ok, I feel much better now!

This book was passed to me for review by the author. I would just like to say thank you very much for this, as this is now one of my favourite books of all time. I’m going to be very careful what I say on this review, as I’m genuinely worried about spoiling it for other readers by delving too much into the

My first introduction to Ms Ashley Fontainne was at her Goodreads author page. I had just finished watching the trailer for her novel Accountable to None. Immediately, I left her a message. Being someone who has wanted to make a trailer for my own book, I felt compelled to let Ms Fontainne know that I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Each frame was a chapter describing a book that I would be interested in reading. Accountable to None is a story of a woman who takes five years of her life planning ...more

I can't believe the number of people that have given this book a four or five star rating. The plot is unbelievable, the characters are one dimensional, and the author's writing is eighth grade at best. She or he (not sure which) has mastered the run-on sentence, and I've seldom read an author that can misplace modifiers so frequently. She/he also puts apostrophes where they don't belong and leaves them out when she should use them. (The plural of Barbie is Barbies, not Barbie's. That's the sing ...more

AMAZING. I won this book in one of the Goodreads giveaways, and as soon as I received it in the mail I read it. In one day. This book has interesting characters and a great fast-paced plot. It's short and easy to read so I would recommend this book to anyone. I couldn't put it down! Great revenge story. Loved it! Go Audra! :)

Ashley Fontainne: Accountable to None
Reviewed by Fran Lewis

Defiled, attached, spirit mutilated, raped: Audra would never be the same. A young CPT devoted to her job and about to be promoted to minority partner of an accounting firm, but at what cost. Dedication at what price and at your own risk? Managing partner Olin Kemper had his own agenda in mind when meeting with Audra. The end result a blood-riddled body covered in black and blues, bruises, torn and tattered clothing and an inner being, s

This book was made for Hollywood. Seriously. I can totally picture Angelina Jolie or some other extremely skinny actress playing Audra and winning an Oscar for this.

'Accountable to None' is the story of not one person but over 7-8 different people but it's all focused one, probably the most evil man alive named Olin.
The story begins with Audra crawled in her office hours after being raped and brutally hurt by her boss Olin, whom she met with that night thinking they were going to discuss her pro

“It’s Not Revenge She’s After – It’s a Reckoning”

Accountable to None, by Ashley Fontainne, is more than just a tale about revenge – much more. It is a story about the human spirit – the human endurance structure that is woven throughout each and every one of us. There comes a time in all of our lives when we feel that we have been victimized in one way or another. Do we select to seek out revenge – or do we simply choose to forgive our attacker? Justice must always be served!

Audra is a beautifu

Spoilers ahead!

The brutal rape of Audra Tanner is the compelling opening to this story of greed, lust, and revenge. We all know someone like Olin, the egotistical psycho boss who rules with an iron fist. And in our minds we wish we could be the fly on the wall when justice has finally been doled out. ACCOUNTABLE TO NONE is a gripping tale of corporate tyranny, deception, and power gone horribly wrong. When Audra spends years amassing an indisputable amount of evidence against the man who took so

I do not really know whether to give this a three or a four, so I will say 3.5 and give it four stars.

This book had good points, a lot of good points. It is a thriller, a page turner. I read books on my iPhone kindle app during my breaks and I found that I was taking a lot of breaks and they were getting longer.

I really liked the way the author showed me the crisis from different viewpoints. I was basically kept waiting to hear what the crisis actually was. For me that was very well done.

Ashley Fontainne manages to achieve the impossible: she makes accountants interesting! Beginning with an incredibly harrowing scene you are grabbed hook, line and sinker into the story as the book becomes an almost compulsive read.

Audra is a worthy protagonist, almost destroying herself in her quest for vengeance against the despicable Olin, her boss. The action and revelations don’t stop as each main character is explored in depth, giving more weight to the overall plot. The book’s central scen

This book was fantastic! I'd never read a Ashley Fontainne novel before, so I didn't know exactly what to expect. At first I was a little iffy about it as it appeared it wouldn't be a romance (and that is my main source of reading) and each chapter was from the perspective of a different character. I didn't think I would like that each chapter was focused on a different character, but it worked really well for the book and I ended up loving it in the end! With each chapter the story progresses, ...more
Wow, what a story!
Winscott & Associates is one of the largest and most successful accounting firms in Arizona. Five years ago the partners have voted and have chosen Olin as a managing partner. This is probably the biggest mistake they've made in their lives...a mistake that will shatter their comfortable positions at the Firm and maybe even endanger their reputation and lives!

Accountable to None is a fast paced story about revenge. Follow the high rollers of an accounting firm in Phoenix, Arizona as the revenge story unfolds. What could happen to drive someone to the deep dark recesses of revenge? What could cause someone to hole themselves up and cost so someone so much – all the things meaningful in life – that they would seek revenge?

Ashley is able to weave a quick story that is very fast paced. She is capable of pulling together characters while spending little t

Ashley Fontainne has written a thriller that takes you on a roller coaster ride. Accountable to None starts off with the rape and beating of Audra, the main character. She then sets off to exact her revenge. Enter Olin, this character makes my skin crawl and makes me want to smack him. He is mean to the core and as selfish as they come.

The whole of the story I was amazed to learn that everyone was basically afraid of Olin. Though as a person I could see why. He wouldn't and didn't have any probl

Basically, this is a story of revenge for a female partner in an accounting firm that promotes, uses and disposes of female employees by the alpha male and his male cohorts using sex as the weapon. What happened to the main character Audra is horrible, and she will then engage in the ultimate payback that takes five years. It is shown through the other characters as well, both male and female, and is a terrific story of power, money, corruption, using sex as power, and ultimately greed on the pa ...more

Accountable to None is a well-written story where each chapter is told from the perspective of one of the partners in a prestigious Arizona accounting firm. From the beginning of the story, we know that Audra Tanner was beaten and raped by the general partner after she’s dedicated several years of her lif

This book turned out to be everything I was hoping it would be! I had no idea boardroom brawls could get so intense and…bloody.

I was drawn into the story from the word go, and instantly felt sympathy for the main character. What she had to endure is every woman’s worst nightmare. Some choose to remain victims after such an ordeal, but others – like Audra – choose to take matters into their own hands and fight back.

I am a big fan of strong female characters, so of course I took an instant liking

Every bit as good as James Patterson ...

I grew up in a world where there were about a dozen writers that ruled the book shelves of my local book store. And why? Because those were the only authors I had reasonable exposure to - they owned the end aisles and feature bins at the front of the store and were backed by the big publishers who essentially owned the business. Sure, I could wade into the poorly-lit back aisles and risk $10-20 on an unknown name, and maybe get lucky once in a while and fi

Let me start with this... I read / listened to this book via I love audiobooks as they give me opportunity to sit back & relax or even do housework while listening to the stories. The narration offers proper accents & pronunciations, most of which I mess up when I read on my own. Also audiobooks give us the ability to be able to picture the story like a movie as we hear it.

i dont think im spoiling anything as it shows on the first few pages this is a revenge after a rape story. personally i find that kind of thing hard to read or watch on TV but i was glad i kept going, i think the author handled it so very well.
I liked the multiple perspectives used throughout the story as the main players within the company let the story evolve through their own stories. it is a great formula for storytelling and it keeps the story fresh as it goes between the different points o

I purchased and read this book as I was fortunate enough to win the Goodreads First Reads giveaway of the sequel, Zero Balance; I thought that I should read the first book in the series to fully appreciate it when it arrives.

I am so glad that I did. The characters are vivid and compelling, with villains you loathe and the righteous you truly get behind in their quest for revenge; the righteous are not necessarily acting morally, but you empathise and understand their need for revenge, and thus,

The author of Accountable To None, Ashley Fontainne, took me on an emotional roller coaster ride, feeling everything from pain and heartache of a character that the reader finds themselves wanting to wrap in a warm embrace, to the evil sense of entitlement on one of the most brutal characters I have read about in a long time. Olin Kemper is a selfish and extremely hedonistic bastard. He disrespects anyone working under him especially women and doesn’t even like his fellow partners. Five years ago he brutally raped and beat a woman. Now she is out for revenge against him and the other partners who failed to help. Armed with ample ammunition against all of them she is ready to carry out her plan. Watch out, here comes Audra.

Wow, a real rollercoaster of a book and one I really didn't want to put down !! It's all about a girl attacked by one of her bosses five years previously and who bides her time in order to wreak her revenge. You're pretty much right there in the room at her side cheering her on !!
All the characters are very different and it was interesting all the way. AND the author also left it open-ended at the climax (with still having a satisfying outcome)and so there's a sequel !!

I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the Eviscerating the Snake series--so much so that I read the other two. The setting in a huge accounting firm was something that I'd never read about before. The main character, Audra, was brutally raped before being made a partner. The dirty deed was ignored by all the other partners until Audra gets her revenge. In the process she solves a 30-year-old murder mystery. I've read other reviews criticizing the editing, but obviously it has been all cleaned ...more

Fontainne has a creative, dark mind and you can feel it as you flip through the pages of “Accountable to None.” While the plot borders on unbelievable, it adds to the overall appeal of the storyline, especially since Audra, who has been underestimated for her entire career, steps up to the plate to put an end to the masochistic tendencies of the managing partner. “Accountable to None” is a novel that you won’t be able to put down because you want to know what happens next and what Audra has in s ...more

A Riveting Tale of Revenge!
Very well written. Ashley Fontainne’s novel ‘Accountable to None’ is a realistic peek into a winning-at-all-costs corrupt workplace that ultimately is brought down. Past misdeeds come to light; a murder and horrific sexual assaults. It reminded me of a John Grisham novel with its gripping David and Goliath justice prevails ending. Great characters who go through hell and back and one crazed psychopath. A great read in front of the fireplace on a chilly evening.
