By P.R Mason

Five Lemons –The best meringue pie you ever had!

Rating: Has making out and swearing, but no graphic violence.

Entanglements starts with introducing us to Kizzy Taylor on what is probably one of the worst nights of her life. Her own father, the man who was supposed to love her and care for her, holds her at gunpoint, ordering her to jump off a bridge. She tried to save herself and her baby brother by running from her, but unfortunately he did fire and killed her kid brother in the process. Now, several months later, Kizzy is still suffering from survivor’s guilt, and struggling to keep on going with her...more

When I picked up P.R. Mason's ENTANGLEMENTS I wasn't sure what to expect. I don't normally read YA novels, but I found ENTANGLEMENTS to be a delight.

Kizzy, the heroine is in some ways a typical teenager, but she has a tragic past, her father tried to kill her and did kill her four-year-old brother. And her future isn't certain either. Turns out she has an unusual talent - she can open portals to alternate dimensions. Now her fate along with that of her family, friends and three separate dimensio...more

Entanglements by P.R. Mason

Join Kizzy on this adventure with the hunky Rom Calixo and all her friends, including a few bullies who tag along as well. Kizzy ends up on an adventures traveling through wormholes and...more

Ms. Mason blends the paranormal—think vampires, ghouls and more—with some fascinating sci-fi components—vortexes, wild scientific theories and alternate dimensions—into a world I was sucked into. (*cringe* Please forgive the pun.) I’ve never read a storyline quite like this, and I enjoyed how she pulled everything together. Rom was both formal and charming, whereas Kizzy is aloof and understandably vulnerable. The romance between them was fun to read, although I would have liked to have known a...more

I like it when I'm able to step outside of my reading comfort zone and read something I wouldn't normally even consider. That's what happened when I read "Entanglements" by P.R. Mason.

"Entanglements" is a young-adult paranormal/fantasy book that forced me to try to believe things that I can barely grasp. It follows teenager Kizzy Taylor as she discovers alternate dimensions and has to save her stepsister after she accidentally opens a vortex and her stepsister is sucked away.

Not being familiar w...more

Entanglements started out okay. A very dramatic entrance in which Kizzy Taylor finds herself in a very life-threatening position. Afterwards, I found myself not very engaged in the characters or the story itself, especially when the idea of the vortex and numerous dimensions came into play. I could not envision the story as I read and the plot held no enticement.

The characters' speech wasn't very believable or easy to read. They ju...more

Disclaimer: I won this book on Goodreads.

Ahh. This book.
I couldn't stand it. The beginning chapter/section was flawless. This was when the main character's father points a gun at her. Her brother dies instead of her. I felt no remorse what so ever. I felt it was just there for dramatic effect. It didn't at all change me.
And please don't get me started on the character "love interest". THE DIALECT. OMG. No one speaks like that. I know it was supposed to be something new and different, but it made...more

I couldn’t really express how surprised I was at how engaging and gripping the story was from the very beginning. For a non-sci-fi fan like me, this story had pushed me out of my comfort zone in the most mystifying way possible and I was kept glued to it until the end. Although I occasionally found myself baffled by the whole concept of alternate universe, still I wanted to read more because the author had flawlessly written her story and even the plot was very comprehensible. It seemed to me th...more

This book sucked me in from the very beginning. The writing was top notch, wrapped around a story line with twists and turns that kept me turning the cyber page on my kindle. I highly recommend this for those you aren't looking for anything too dark and who like a nice romance thrown in. Highly recommended!

Great YA fantasy read! I like that the female protagonist isn't a sissy! I also like how the book includes plenty of action and teen romance. Great characters and plot! I also admire how Mason includes a bit of time travel theory without being heavy handed.

I'm confused by this book. I really liked it at times but then I didn't like it at times. I was confused.

Simply Amazing gift for story telling and a vivid imagination in the crafted parallel universe

I liked the author's novella better. This book was just too long and drawn out. It could have been ended a lot sooner by leaving out many of the little side stories that were mentioned but never readdressed or tied tied up. The whole idea of multiple universes was cool though!

I had a student read this book on my behalf, and she was absolutely crazy about it. She recommended it to her friends, but then recommended that (because of the language) I should not add it to my classroom library shelf.

Note: I received this book through a first-reads giveaway

The story was okay and decently written but I didn't feel particularly drawn to any of the characters. They were just....there. It was a freebie so in that sense, I suppose it was average.
