Oh my goodness… this book made me laugh, made me cry. This story really touched my heart. I loved all the characters. The romance was sweet, and sizzling, and the love that flowed between Holly, and Marcus felt real and everlasting.
Marcus was put on a secret Santa list. Marcus was gruff, and depressed. He wanted to be left alone to wallow in his grief. He didn’t want any gifts. Holly tried her best to sneak around and leave the gifts… But Marcus had a way of always catching her. Each time they

I reviewed this short story for my Blog at www.bookworm2bookworm.wordpress.com

I love nothing better than reading Christmas stories around Christmas time. I actually go out of my way to make sure my TBR is stocked up. This Christmas I'm recommending this short, sweet, funny and utterly romantic tear-jerker called `SECRET SANTA' by Kristine Cheney.

Holly is a girl after my own heart. She's bubbly, beautiful, determined and tenacious! For seven years she's been a part of Ashton Falls Secret Santa Pr

I'm going to be honest here, i usually stick to strictly Paranormal Romance, but after having talked to Kristine on FB, i purchased this ebook and havent regretted that decision at all.

Im on Chapter 8 at the time of this review, and since i really only started reading it 2 nights ago, that should speak volumes as to the quality of the story. Ive found it hard to stop reading, but forced myself to put it down when im at work because it would be hard to explain why filing is making me sob. The sto

I admit to loving Christmas stories in general. And this one pulls all of your emotions out of you. I laughed, cried and cheered at the end!

All Holly wants is to play Secret Santa like she has for the past several years. This get her through this lonely time of year. But through a series of misadventures one of her "missions" catches her in the act. But Holly is not about to let a little thing like a mission telling her no to stop her. She's going to deliver all 12 of Marcus' gifts come hell or

Its filled with passion and a love story that will not only have you bawling your eyes out but your heart doing somersaults one moments and other moments feel like it was going to leave your chest.

Secret Santa by Kristine Cheney, who is a good friend of mine, is a beautiful and emotional read that will capture your attention as well as your heart! Be sure to have tissues close!

The best thing about Kristine's writing is that she paints a picture for her readers. A scene that is so real, and tragic that it is hard to believe that it's just words on a page, or an ereader. Secret Santa made me believe that miracles again.

I have been a fan of Mrs. Cheney since I fell in love with her Spartan b

Excellent!! Steamy and tear inducing!!

Sizzling, sweet, spicy and everything nice! Secret Santa by Kristine Cheney is a delightfully fun and heartwarming story that many will quickly and easily fall in love with. Though short, this is a story that offers so many delightful aspects. There is excellent character development, true caring and unselfishness, great story line and a liberal dose of steaminess that will curl reader's toes.

I absolutely fell in love with Marcus and Holly. Their chemistry

This book had me glued to the screen.. I can easily say this is one of the best books Ive read in quite awhile.. This is such an emotional read and I teared up several times and caught myself talking to the Kindle as well.. My only complaints are 1. MORE! I wish this were longer because I wanted to read more about Holly and Marcus 2. I wish there would have been a complete love scene in the book.. The two "almost" scenes were pretty perfect IMO- not squeaky clean but not porn-like either.. I hav ...more

This was a short story I picked up because of the authors self-promotion. I don’t think I would have bought it otherwise. Secret Santa is the story of Holly Gordon who loves Christmas and playing Secret Santa for some of the folks around town. It is in this capacity that Holly meets Marcus Jenner. Who makes Scrooge look like a softy. The reason I don’t usually get books like this is because they have an unfortunate tendency to be either too saccharine or too maudlin. I must commend Ms. Cheney as ...more

I bought this book on a whim. It was late, I was browsing on my NOOK and happened to come across it. The premise sounded promising so I figured why not. I should listen to these whims more often! This story was so heartwarming and sad that even though I knew there would be a HEA, I still found myself getting teary eyed. Definitely and author I'll be following in the future.

This is such a sweet love story. Your heart is touched by Holly and Marcus. Kristine Cheney does another awesome job pulling you into the lives of two people with hard pasts and an even harder future. Beware though it is definitly a tear jerker so get the kleenex ready :)

LOVED this story!!! Very heartwarming and will make you teary-eyed. I loved it so much I tried to find others similar to this. It had very original parts to it yet some that a few people would find clichéd. Nonetheless, it was a sweet romance that you would like to read every time you pick up a book with romance in mind. Holly is very sweet and determined to make others happy for Christmas through the community secret santa list. Her enthusiasm and innocence was very inspiring and made me want t ...more

AUTHOR: I have read (2) very good books by author Kristine Cheney which were not short stories. She has superb timing in her writings and the stories flowed. I find that short stories may not be her forté. The timing was off just a bit as the story progressed hence 4 out of 5 stars. Had this story been longer and more "detailed" Kristine would have blown me right out of the ballpark. Regardless, you WILL love the book so do not pass on reading SECRET SANTA.

I met author, Kristine Cheney at an event earlier this year, and based on her description of her books alone, I ended up buying two of them. Secret Santa is the first one I've read, and I'm sorry to say that I wasn't overly impressed. The story is a very sweet one, and the premise is something I would typically enjoy. It also contained several of my favorite romance themes. Ms. Cheney, herself, seemed like a very nice lady too, so I really wanted to like her book and thou

I downloaded this book (on my new Kindle! Eek! There goes my paycheck.) because all I've heard from my girls Tammy and Mel is, "Her books are fantastic!" and "Kristine is such a sweetie!" so I just had to see what all the hubbub was about. I recently downloaded all of her books, actually, but this is the first one I picked to read - I was in a "human" mood.

When I started it, I didn't think it would live up to the hype. Just because I'm a disbeliever like that. But I started it this Friday morni

The title is in more ways than one exactly what it implies. Yes we meet two people brought together by the spirit of Christmas and yes the gift is a unforgettable surprise. We meet Holly (yes indeed a perfect Christmissy name), who likes to play secret Santa to the folks in her town and this is how she meets the stunning and remarkably grumpy Marcus.

Marcus has had is ups and downs in the love department but he soon finds the attraction he feel

I thought this was sweet romance but it was too graphic with the sex. I also was not happy with the language. I did enjoy the story.

I usually avoid these type of mushy, type of love stories. I tend to read Paranormal romances. But after Reading BOTH Spartan Heart pt. I and II, and getting a recommendation from Kristine herself, i thought i would give it a go ....
and i was glad i did.
anyone wanting a teary, Xmas story with a happy ending (i did ALMOST guess the ending) then this one is for you.
No shapeshifters, no vampires, no Paranormal activity whatsoever. But a lovely written story.
I for one did cry like a big girl.

This is a beautifully written heartfelt story that I made the mistake of starting just before I went to bed. Needless to say it ended up being a very late night. I love a story that I really don't want to put down and this was definatly one of those.

I read this story after someone on my FB page kept telling me I "had to" and that I would love it. They were so right. This was a very emotional and beautiful story. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

Very cute, but I really don't see how two people can fall in love that quickly. I would've loved a longer book to get to know the characters better but I liked it, it made me cry a little.
