Sometimes you just have to come right out and ask the question.

Friends and Lovers, Book 1

After months of exploring his bisexuality on his own, college student Chase Randolph is ready for a night out on the town—all the way “out”. He never expected Alex Landry to witness his first experimental sexual encounter, though. Chase has been attracted to his best friend and roommat...more

I liked the first few chapters then the book went to shit. Chase started acting like a child. I was happy when Taylor finally told him to grow up. It seems after they got together it was sex, sex, sex which is not surprising with a Liz Andrews book.

It doesn't help when the sequel is a menage as a continuation of their story. I don't like menage stories so that didn't help me invest in the characters. I was already getting bored and that put me in the "I don't even care" category especially since...more

GFY erotica. Funniest phrase: "His questing digit"! I was wondering why the author kept making such a big deal about them being bi and not gay but I saw at the end (view spoiler)[an excerpt from the next book in the series where the two guys get with a girl. So, not being a fan of m/m/f, that also decreased my enjoyment of the HFN ending (hide spoiler)].

This is what happens when I don't listen to other reviewers...

Friends to lovers...how can one go wrong with this theme you ask??? Well let me draw you a map because it was all over the place and ended up on wrong. This story put the dick in predictable (and not in the fun way). The characters were cardboard. I skimmed the sex and the parts that I did read had new and unusual terms for m/m sex. Oy! Overall, I was ...not a fan.

Lesson learned: when 10/12 reviews tell you its no bueno...its no buen...more

Felt clumsy right off the bat. Stating the obvious, while not mentioning the things that require explanation or justification.

This is just… Ah, I kept wanting to edit this thing. Strike sentence here, add one there. (Edit: I picked this apart in a comment to this.) Even so, these guys don’t sound like guys and their conversations and thought processes (and level of knowledge) make little sense to me.

Honestly, college guys do not talk and behave like that; unless they are extreme exceptions. Shak...more

Blurb :Product Warnings.. No heaving bosoms here, just two gorgeous guys, lots of muscles and some closet doors banging wide open.

THE WARNING SHOULD SAY : GIRLY BITS AHEAD !!!!! where in the blurb said that is going to be a woman also? I hate when the authors do that :(

Just the other day I was reading a story about college boys and thinking how they were really too naïve in their behavior for being guys living out of the protective umbrella of their family. Here the feeling was exactly the opposite, when first we met Chase, I didn’t feel the vibes of a college boy but of a more mature man. Then in the course of the story, and especially when we met Alex, the college boys theme is more accentuated, but still, I have the feeling this story could have been also b...more

It was okay. A sappy, easy read. It would have been improved upon had there been more development to the relationship. There was very little tension as the best friends progressed to being lovers. I'm not a fan of unnecessary angst. I don't need my heart twisting and my stomach churning wondering what will come next, will they or won't they? But, as a reader, I'd like to be hooked into the story and suspense provides said hook. This was too easy. I know there are books that read like jello shots...more

Best of Both Worlds started off great. Chase is bi-sexual and hasn't come out to his roommate and best friend, Alex. And then Alex walks in on Chase on the receiving end of a bj from a guy and puts two and two together. What Alex doesn't know is that Chase is in love with him. As Alex tries to come to terms with his friend's sexuality, Alex must take a good look at himself and decide if what he wants with Chase goes beyond friendship.

I am a sucker for a friends to lovers romance and was...more

My Review:

I truly loved this book. I thought that it was seriously hot and sexy. This book featured one of my favorite tropes...friends to lovers, but with guys.

Alex and Chase have been friends forever and have been roommates all through college. Chase has been aware of his attraction to both guys and girls for a while, but has never acted upon his attraction to guys before. The problem is that he's secretly in love with Alex and Alex is purely heterosexual. So Chase starts going out to experime...more

Totally touches all my favourite overused tropes: best friends become lovers, G4Y, jealousy and some angst. The first part of the story was good, a nice introduction to the characters and a solid start to who the main guys were and a good build of a story. Then it all went to hell. It quickly became about sex, a bit of whining, more awkward sex, a little drama, and the end. I actually got more interested in the secondary characters than I did the main ones.

It doesn't make things better when the...more

Chase and Alex are best buds and roommates. Bros before Hoes. Ride 'til they die. Bromance while sippin' on Gin and juice like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre in a hooptie.

Chase is bisexual but in the closet about it. He's also in love with Alex. The story starts with Chase going to a gay club for the first time where he hooks up with a hottie and brings him home (Stranger danger, Chase! Stranger danger!). At the tail end of Chase's first blow job from a g...more

Book 1 in a two-book series, this book tells the story of how best friends Chase and Alex got together. I read the 2nd book first, not realizing there was a 1st book. (Still following me?)

Anyway, the 2nd book is much better, IMO. In that book, Alex & Chase have been together for a few years, so they're more settled. (view spoiler)[And they hook up with a girl from high school - a girl they were good friends with, who turned both of them down for dates, and a girl they were both just...more

SUMMARY (50 words or less)
This book may not win any literary awards, but for me it was entertaining. The storyline was hot. I enjoyed it. There were a few unbelievable parts and some of the dialogue is cheesy. But love is cheesy sometimes. Looking for a...more

Best of Both Worlds was an okay book. It was a novella, so it wasn't long, which I felt hindered the book. Everything just happened so fast. It felt as if a light bulb just went off in Alex head, after catching his friend Chase with a guy, that he was attracted to him. I always would have liked a little more angst to keep me on the edge of my seat. There were a lot of hot scenes which I liked reading. I didn't care some of the conversation between Chase and Taylor, it came across as if they were...more

There's not much to say about this, except that it's cliché as hell. At no point was I itching to see what happens, because I'd already guessed. And it's not the kind of guessing you look forward to seeing happen either. The romance was cute at best. The sex? As boring as it is redundant.
Heck, the only reason I finished the book was because I was halfway through when I decided it wasn't worth it, but since it was small, I thought I might as well. And there's a sequel. And I know I'm not going an...more

3.5 stars I definitely just read this in one sitting, it's pretty fast paced with a lot of action, but the relationship doesn't feel too rushed. Especially given Alex's situation, I felt like their emotional reactions to things were appropriate despite the seemingly quick development of a sexual relationship. And a word of advice, be prepared to start off with a bang (literally and figuratively) because the first two scenes are totally hot and it never really slows down.

So in this series Book 2 Coming Full Circle (Friends and Lovers #2) was out first and had read it a year or two ago....I had hoped at some point there would be a story of how Chase and Alex went from best friends to lovers.

This was a good read, and I really liked seeing Chase and Alex and they both come to terms with who they are and what they want.

I liked this college roommates and best friends explore their sexuality together and find love until the end of the novella. Alex and Chase were perfect for one another seemed on their way to a HEA, but then the potential addition to the plot of a third (a woman from their past) came out of nowhere and totally ruined this sweet m/m romance for me. So, I stop with this book and ignore the m/f/m plot that's coming.
Sarah
I bought this because I enjoyed the excerpt that Samhain had available - it started reasonably well, but then got a little confused and everything was resolved a little too easily.
I also hadn't realised that this is the prequel to a m/m/f novel - if I'd known that then I probably wouldn't have bothered reading this. The ending was confusing until I checked what else the author had written and realised that the ending was the link into the novel.
3 stars because I did like the start, but it does...more
Live Read and Breathe Reviews
I had read Coming full circle first and did not realize that there was a book before it. So I was pleasantly surprised to find this book of the foundation pf Chace and Alex. I liked the premise of this story and the fact that it is just a love story. Alex just fell in love with Chace it was not about the gender but the person. It was a good read about the struggles of life choices, outside pressures and love.
Nicole
Very sexy, but I wanted a little more from them outside the bedroom too. But I enjoyed the way Andrews handled each guy coming to terms with each other. Very hot!!

Excited to see there was another book in the series, somewhat disappointed to see it will be a menage. :(
Janie
I really liked Chase and Alex together. I also really liked all of Chases new friends and hope to hear more about them. I am very disappointed that I read in a review that book 2 is a menage. I will not be reading that as I hate menage books.

GOOD GAWD is that cover HOT!!!!!!!

This was one of the sweetest and most emotional M/M romances I have read. The emotional turmoil each character endures to come to terms with their attraction with one another is just so sweet. They are best friends who refuse to lose their years of friendship because of a physical attraction, they work through their own emotions and each others together to come to a solution. Although this is a short story it was sweet and nicely written and when you want a chan...more

I don't know why the low reviews on this book..I thought it was a hot sexy read. Grant started acting like a girl, and I wanted to say "man up" a few times. I'm looking forward o reading the next book actually.
Amy
I liked the story and all the characters. I am hoping there will be a second book with Spencer and Dmitri as a couple b/c there were hints of a potential relationship between the two guys.
Jen Wilson
I love knowing the story of how Chase and Alex come together! Coming full Circle was one of the first m/m/f books I read so when this come out I had to read it and I am glad I did.
Damiellar
I must admit that I didn't enjoy this as much as the sequel. I suspect it's due to it being a shorter book and more of an 'interlude' than something fully developed.
Andrea
I did like this book; however, it did feel a little rushed. I am hoping Dimitri and the rest of the guys get their stories at some point.
Kris
The ending made me rant. Oh, yes, it did.

Granted it doesn't take much, but still... no.
