Unravel Me is successful to retain the mind shattering effect on me same as the first book did. I would say the total series literally barraged my mind with it gripping actions, lots of power play and extremely sensual romance.

Juliette and Adam are still hanging out in the underground facility working on the resistance. Oh Warner. How psycho I truly thought you were. Oh how hard I tried to hate you, to stay on Team Adam. But I really can't resist you any longer! We get down deep with Warner and what you find out is that he is not psycho, his father is! Supreme Commander Anderson laughs that Warner has feelings, laughs that Warner tried to kill him as a boy but couldn't, laughs at how weak Warner is for wanting to be near his mother. Warner took his mom's last name. Awww! I love me a mammas boy! Not to mention how eloquently, and swoontasticly Warner speaks to Juliette.

Kenji is such a hilarious scene stealer! I am Team Kenji along with everyone else but don't worry he is so not a love interest. Just a fun and understanding friend with great comic relief. I once again just LOVE the super descriptive writing style. It does take a few pages to get back into the swing of it but it makes me feel like I am Juliette. I feel completely inside her head and I see and feel everything as her perfectly. I feel her frustrations, her bravery, and her courage. I love how strong she is becoming. It ends similar to the first book, no huge cliffhanger, but it just kind of ends with you still needing and wanting more!

I truly love this series, and I wouldn't call it a guilty pleasure despite the number of negative things I've seen said about it. There's just something so . . . gripping about it. It's the kind of series that's easy to devour quickly, at least for me.

I am way too upset with the conclusion of this sequel to say anything more than the few following things:

1- Everything was perfect, I was in love with the characters, I was captivated by the story, I was more than ready to give 5 perfect stars to Unravel Me... up until I reached 65% of the reading.

If you thought Shatter Me was something special, wait till you read Unravel Me. Tahareh's writing style just amazes me. How she merges poetry with prose. It's just so beautiful. Regardless of the over the top flowery prose and the plot that you have to suspend your disbelief with, Tahereh has me hook, line and sinker about a young woman who can kill anyone by touching them, including her unreachable dream of being normal and finding someone who can love her without their fear of dying of a horrible pain by her hands.

Regardless of the over the top flowery prose and the plot that you have to suspend your disbelief with, Tahereh has me hook, line and sinker about a young woman who can kill anyone by touching them, including her unreachable dream of being normal and finding someone who can love her without their fear of dying of a horrible pain by her hands.

Unravel Me is the sequel that picks up right after the events of Shatter Me. Juliette, the abused outcast has been rescued and is in a better place thanks to the rebels of Omega Point who want to bring down the Reestablishment. The people at Omega Point have powers like Juliette does (think of a heavily X-Men influence here). But Juliette isn’t fitting in at all. She fells trapped and alone even with Adam, the man she fell head over heels in love with, who rescued her from Warner, the son of the leader of the Reestablishment. Warner is obsessed with Juliette and will do whatever he can to make her love him and transform her into the ultimate fighting weapon. Adam can touch Juliette, as well as Warner. Juliette keeps Warner a secret, afraid to even tell Adam that Warner can touch her without getting sick or dying, just like Adam. But Adam can only touch Juliette for short periods of times. No one knows why. Adam is open to be experimented on even though Juliette is against it. If it’s true that Adam can’t touch her for no more than a few minutes, she’ll be all alone again.

The powers that be at the Omega Point aren’t happy with Juliette, and don’t like how close she and Adam are. They feel she’s a bad influence on Adam. Juliette has to decide if it’s in Adam’s best interests to give him up, but then something shocking happens. Warner is taken hostage and is much more likeable then when Juliette first met him. He’s not that psychotic megalomaniac Juliette first thought him to be when he took her out of the asylum she was sent to and held as his prisoner/guest. He’s starting to make more sense about things, and Juliette can’t help but soak in what he says, especially since he can touch her and has this seductive way of making her believe him. But Warner’s father wants revenge and feels the way to control Warner is to also control Juliette, or even eliminate her for good. Warner and Adam must work together to protect Juliette or she could become the ultimate victim to the ongoing war that’s about to come to a head and destroy everyone in its path.

I picked up Unravel Me at New York Comic Con last year and finished it within hours of reading. Fans of this series will love this one. The angst factor is high, the sensuality factor is even higher, and the idea of touch becomes very important for Juliette, Adam and Warner. The over the top prose has been toned down and the plot and action here is much more cohesive. There's many reveals here, most importantly about Juliette and her feelings for Adam and for Warner.

Warner is so seductive. Tahereh makes you like him. He has more a likable factor (but is still so damaged and deranged), which was shown in Destroy Me, the novella published prior to this. We gain a lot more insight on Warner’s relationship with his father and why he needs Juliette. But he's still a master manipulator who knows how to play Juliette so well. You the reader, as well as Juliette may not mind.

We find out Warner's first name and the very complex relationship between him and Adam is not what it seems. These two men love Juliette with everything they have inside of them. Talk about Angsty McAngst with Adam and Juliette.

We see an angry Juliette here. If you watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer and remember the episode where Willow goes feral due to the loss of her lover, Tara, then you'll get the idea what's in store for Juliette. Juliette is angry and she’s not going to take it anymore. She’s on a mission to right the wrongs done to her, and watch out, it will be a doozy when the third and final book is released in February 2014

The last line of this book says what's to come in book three. I wanted to stand up and cheer for Juliette for finally coming to the conclusion she’s not some insect to be prodded or walked all over. Warner will have a big role in helping Juliette realize this. Team Warner fans, rejoice.

Here's just a small taste of why there's a Team Warner: (Warner says this to Juliette in her bedroom, alone)

"I want so many things," he whispers. "I want your mind. Your strength. I want to be worth your time." His finger graze the hem of my top and he says "I want this up." He tugs on the waist of my pants and says "I want these down." He touched the tips of his fingers to the sides of my body and says, "I want to feel your skin on fire. I want to feel your heart racing next to mine and I want to know it's racing because of me, because you want me. Because you never," he says, he breathes, "never want me to stop. I want every second. Every inch of you. I want it all."

And I drop dead, all over the floor.

I dropped to the floor just like Juliette with a statement like that.(less)

I'm not sure if many of you people have read Shatter Me, but obviously, Warner is a psychotic sleeze bag who wants Juliette to torture/kill people. Anybody who is team warner has serious mental problems, or they just can't read. Juliette obviously loves ADAM, the boy from her PAST, not the freakin' psycopath.

Let's just say that some people have serious judgement issues.

She’s never been close to another person; she was even rejected by her own parents and called a “thing,” so it’s easy to understand why she is so awkward with people, and scared to let any friends in besides Adam. At Omega Point she’s supposed to fit in, these are her kind, after all. But Juliette sees the frightened glances and the wary looks, so she can’t help but wonder if she’ll ever fit in anywhere.

Her relationship with Adam is so intense, because this is a first for her. She’s never had the joy of human touch, and she now comes ALIVE from it. Thrives on it. Adam wants her, and wants to touch her, sees her as a girl, and not someone to fear, and to Juliette this is monumental. Some of their scenes together are very powerful. I think I was overcome just as much as Juliette while reading these! Unravel Me has some of the steamiest scenes I have ever read in YA! I know I’ve said that I HATE love triangles, and for the most part, I REALLY, REALLY do. Well, we have a love triangle and somehow it works. In Shatter Me I was solidly Team Adam. So, why Warner?!! Why did you have to utterly charm me, and crawl into my heart?!! Some of the things he confesses to Juliette, and the soul bearing words he shares, completely floors me! I am UNDONE by him!! I’m soooo conflicted now, I don’t know if I could chose between these two, and neither can Juliette. But don’t fear, those who are cringing as you read that last bit. The plot is not all focused on the love life of Juliette. There are bigger things to worry about.

There is a war brewing between the Reestablishment and the citizens, and Omega Point is right in the middle of it. Juliette must quickly learn how to control and harness her power if she’s to help the Resistance. So many people are counting on her to step up. Juliette struggles with her power, and how her intense emotions affect her power. Whenever she’s flooded with dark or negative emotions, she can barley control herself, or the delight she feels at the horror she’s able to inflict. This shocked me a little, and I think it shocked Juliette as well. But I admired that she always tried to be a good person, and was willing to struggle to do so. Also, we meet Anderson, Warner’s father and leader of the Reestablishment, and finally understand why Warner is so screwed up. This guy will NEVER win father-of-the-year!! But his history and a few revelations around him are extremely interesting.

Parts of this story were truly heartbreaking for me. I was dying inside for Juliette. She struggles so much with her worthiness to exist and be loved. I was eager for her to reach out and be part of the Omega family and connect. Seeing her finally gain some confidence brought a big smile to my face. I have a feeling we’re going to see this girl kick some ass in the next book and I cannot wait to watch!

This book was a very satisfying sequel and didn’t suffer the dreaded “second book syndrome” at all. I was riveted from the first pages on. Ms. Mafi has a true talent for bringing out strong emotions. Her gorgeous writing and prose are truly moving. I felt heartbreak, lust, longing and love right along with Juliette, Adam and Warner. The situation gripped my heart and squeezed. I can’t wait to pick up the next in the series and I might literally die from the wait! I highly recommend this series to all YA lovers, it’s a cut above the rest.

Now that I've read Destroy Me, I can officially say that I'm ready for Unravel Me. I am SO excited yet SO scared to read this. Having Warner's POV has given me an insight to his inner struggles and seeing his vulnerable side has really made me second guess my opinion of him. This is going to be one hell of a ride from here on out. Shit!

there is more Warner in this book and I loved every second, ever turn of the page, every flutter in my belly, everything all of it, I had to have more! I hope and wish for the next book to be more about these two characters who are so right for each other its wrong. please don't kill off any character I really can't handle another Ren story line, it'll break my heart!

After a wait that seemed endless, diving back into the gifted Tahereh Mafi's incredible dystopian world was everything I'd hoped for and so much more!! Shatter Me was an absolute work of art with it's poetic narration and heartwarming romance, and while Unravel Me was a continuation of the emotions in some ways, it also carried us beyond the walls of Juliette's mind and into the world that she's been closed off to for so very long. Well, after finishing this up around the 3AM this morning, I know three things.

1) Tahereh Mafi is still a word ninja and I still want to live in her brain for a day. This book was nothing (but in the same breath, EVERYTHING) I expected it to be.

2) I've never been more eager to get my hands on Destroy Me. Come to me, Warner.

3) I'm terrified of the 3rd book. At this point, I know there's no way that my heart will survive it fully intact. Each turn of the page will inevitably be the background noi...more

.....I'm so confused right now. What happened..? I feel like this book was on a completely different level from the first...and not in a good way either.

The love triangle was absolutely the downfall of this. Juliette spent waaaaay too much time trying to sort out her feelings/going back and forth between Warner and Adam. I feel like everyone lost the qualities I liked about them in the first book: Juliette turned into a crying mess and both Warner and Adam turned sappy and jealous of each other....more

Wow! That was impressive.

After reading Shatter Me, I was hoping the sequel will be better because I wasn't satisfied with the first book. I think it was destined to left us all hanging because there is more.

It's 6am and I'm writing a book review! LOL. This is a monumental event!

I'm bombarded with emotions after reading this book. I'm happy and at the same time I'm so annoyed I want to punch something! I'm so proud of Juliette because she's grown a lot. I'm bombarded with emotions after reading this book. I'm happy and at the same time I'm so annoyed I want to punch something! I'm so proud of Juliette because she's grown a lot. From a being a crazy crying mess, Juliette is now a bad-ass rogue. However, I am so pissed and incredibly sad for Adam. What happened to him is just so unfair! Also, there's Warner---the guy I loathed in book 1 won me over in this book. I love Adam with all my heart but like Juliette, it's hard not to feel something for the guy. He's changed and we saw sides of him that made me forget what he did in Shatter Me.

When I read the first 2 chapters of Unravel Me, I was tempted to return the book in my TBR pile because I'm seeing comments and reviews about Warner's awesomeness. I'm a Team Adam through and through, that's why I felt like the book will bring me bad news about Adam and if so, I wanted to make sure that he'll be okay. That wasn't possible though because book 3 is not yet available. I wanted to wait for book 3 because I thought I wont be able to handle whatever bad news Unravel Me would bring. However, due to my reading buddy's insistence---yep that's you Sara, I read it anyway. I'm glad and at the same time annoyed with myself by doing so. The book was really good, but I really wish I've waited... oh my, poor Adam!

Unravel Me is action-packed, riveting and very emotional. There were a lot of secrets revealed and new powers discovered. I have to admit that after reading the book, I was really torn between Adam and Warner. Whoever she ends up with, I think I'm gonna be fine with it. I will be pissed if she ends up with Warner but I'll get over it. I understand her attraction to Warner and the fact that (view spoiler) is crushing my hope for Adam - Juliette HEA. As long as Mafi don't kill Adam's character and finds someone for him to love--- i'll take it.

“Adam—”

“Don’t walk away,” he says, his voice tight, his eyes squeezed shut like he already knows I’m going to. Like he can’t bear to see it happen. “Please,” he whispers, tormented. “Don’t walk away from this.”

“I-I wish,” I tell him, shaking violently now, “I wish I d-didn’t have to. I wish I could love you less.”

I really want to give this book a 5-star rating however, I still get bothered by the writing style. Don't get me wrong, I think Mafi did the right thing by being consistent (because I believe that the writing style is one of the things that makes the book stand out) but, I just couldn't ignore it. It sometimes takes my attention out of the story. Also, I couldn't give it a perfect five after what happened to MY Adam Kent. Team Adam FTW!

If we are going to wait for another year for book 3 to come out, I hope Ms. Mafi will give us a novella (a 2.5 book) with Adam's POV. Warner got a 1.5, I think Adam deserves one too!(less)
