After a killer ending that produces vast amounts of anticipation for the sequel, I have decided I did not, in fact, hate this book for being over, and finally admitted to myself that I actually secretly love cliffhangers that succeed in making me wildly excited for the sequel. Because boy will it be an entertaining one I am sure! I definitely closed this with much more than I was hoping to get from it. Not being a history buff whatsoever--I shy away from anything historical and so I was on the f More...

Hands down, one of the most imaginative books I've read. Harris has the ability to whisk you away not only to another place, but to another time. Her characters are flesh and blood, and the romance is so hot it crackles. I can't wait until every one learns what I have about MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEENTH CENTURY, which is that it's brilliant. Bravo, Harris! I'm standing on a chair clapping my ass off.

I'm a sucker for a time travel book, especially one where the MC goes super far back in time, preferably to a country as fun as Italy. So I had pretty high expectations for this book. And thankfully, they were all warranted - because this book is ADORABLE!

As a person who hears "historical fiction" and runs in the other direction, I was really reluctant to read My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century (from now on it will be dubbed Super Sweet for convenience purposes. Truly delightful!
Looking for a book that is fun, entertaining- a pure delight? Look no further. My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by Rachel Harris is a wonderful book full of time traveling, loveable characters, Renaissance jargon matched with modern jargon and fantastic scenes. The true reality of Renaissance Italy time period was depicted in this story. Like marriage laws and the lack of drinking water.

Stars to infinity! How on earth would you rate such a whimsical and amazing work of complete art such as this? Rachel Harris created a character that, in my mind, will become a literary classic. I've always been in love with time travel historical fiction novels and this addition to the genre is a welcome one.

Before I get into my review of this awesome novel, I would like to say a few special words about the beautiful lady who is also an amazing writer, Rachel Harris. I met Ms. Rachel Harris through my daughter. Rachel and my daughter are cirque partners, and I was asked to be a beta reader for Rachel’s MSSSC. I would just like to say to Rachel that it was an honor and a wonderful privilege to be a part of My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century. My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century is a debut novel by Rachel Harris, and I really enjoyed reading it. Certainly I was expecting to fall head-over-heels in love with this book considering how much other bloggers loved it, but unfortunately that didn't happen. The highlight of this story for me was the continuous mention, and exploration of the Renaissance Art. I'm fascinated with anything historic, my favorite being Greek, but I definitely like learning about the Fl More...

MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEENTH CENTURY by Rachel Harris couldn't have come across my reading pile at a better time. After reading a tragically intense dystopian fantasy, MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEENTH CENTURY was the whimsical title that my poor, shattered heart sorely needed. And, oh my, was it a delight!

I absolutely LOVED this book!! I wanted to live in those beautifully written pages. Time travel, Italy, hotties...what more could you ask for?! This is a MUST read! My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century has it all! This will easily be a classic that should be on your shelves. Rachel Harris has penned a remarkable story. I'm a huge fan of the Renaissance, beautiful flowing dresses, vivid scenes and Romance. Travel back in time with Catarina, as she discovers what life is like in the sixteenth century More...

This book wasn't good, it wasn't amazing either...it was absolutely enchanting! I'm not one for time-travel books, especially renaissance ones, but the moment it mentioned Italy, I was hooked! This book contains everything one might need for an emotional read. Seriously, you can't count the number of emotions this book produced in me even on two hands. There was laughter, swooning, rolling around in my bed, crying, giggling, and gasping in shock occasionally (etc.). This book was very creatively More...

If you’re looking for something light and fun, look no further than ‘My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century’. Ever since I saw that cover with the old timey clothes juxtaposed with the backpack I was intrigued by this book, and I’m glad I had the opportunity to review it. I feel like this book offers exactly what you’d expect it to. I was looking for a fun time travel adventure with a little bit of romance, and that’s precisely what I received.

When I saw this one on Netgalley, I was tempted. When I read the existing awesome reviews, I knew I wanted it, and I was so excited when I got given access to a copy for review on Netgalley – many thanks to both Netgalley and Entangled Publishing!
I’m going to join in with everyone else – I completely adored this book. I loved Cat as a character. I liked that she already had an interest in Italy and the Renaissance, and yet I loved that she still struggled to leave her Americanisms behind and fi More...

I was lucky enough to get a copy of this book from the author, and I'll be completely up front about the fact that she's a friend of mine, so I am definitely biased. I still thought this book was fantastic! It was fresh, and heartfelt, and beautifully written. The characters were deep and real, and I felt what they felt. The happiness and heartache both.

This book is all things cute, adorable, cuddly, come-give-me-a-hug-and-never-let-go awesome. I couldn't get enough of it because of its simplicity and adorable plot. This is one easy read that I highly recommend to any reader. It can be finished in a single sitting and the moral of the story is one for any young girl to learn. It is clear that this novel is geared towards a younger young adult audience, but here I am at age seventeen completely gushing over it.

My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century is a fun and light read which will take to a magical journey, away from all the chaos and stress of the 21st Century and into the inspired air of the Renaissance Period.
To be honest, I didn't like Cat, at first, because she's a little whiny in the first few chapters. But when she entered Reyna's tent, that's where the magic begins. Cat traveled back in time to her most favorite century of all, in 16th centu More...

When I first started Super Sweet Sixteenth Century, I really wasn’t sure what to expect. Cat was an intriguing main character, but from my first impression, I thought I wouldn’t connect with her in anyway. She reminded me too much of Katniss from The Hunger Games: little emotion, isolated, bitter. Even with some of the detailed descriptions of the Italy, I wasn’t exactly pulled into the pages.
However, as I continued to read, I actually became impressed. I was slowly settling in, melting into the More...

Review first published on my blog: Pieces of Whimsy
I just finished My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century and wow.. I loved it! The characters, the setting, the story.. it was just wow.
Within the first few lines I loved Cat. I thought she was funny, smart and had just the right amount of snarkiness (don't think that's a proper word but I'm sticking with it) thrown in. I loved her attitude at the beginning but watching the subtle changes and her growth throughout the book made me love her even more.

This review is hard for me because I am trying to figure out how I can express to you just how endearing and sweet this read was for me without giving anything away.
I guess the best way would be with one simple word, Lorenzo.
Lorenzo made this story. His character was just...perfect. This truly was one of the sweetest (clean) romances I have read yet this year. Everything that came out of that boy's mouth was swoon worthy. I couldn't of asked for a better male protagonist.

This story starts us with Cat Crawford who is your normal, average teenager with issues just like everyone else. She is on a plane with her dad and his new fiancé and is trying her best to come up with a plan to get out of having to attend the Sweet Sixteen party that her soon to be stepmother is planning for her. I loved Cat because even though you learn very early on that her dad is a well known actor in Hollywood, you then come to find that Cat is not a spoiled princess like so many others. S More...

As a lover of historical fiction, I was extremely excited to sign up for the MSSSC blog tour. I've always loved the thought of travelling back in time and Rachel Harris did a fabulous job of magically transferring us back into the past with her spell-binding story. My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century is one of my favourite books this year. The author created a flawless story that was magically told. I couldn't put it down and I guarantee if you read it, you won't be able to either.

I REALLY love time travel books. You learn, while having fun!
This is my second series that I've read, that includes girls going back in time to Italy, and meeting super cute guys, and making awesome friends. And I loved it!! I was hooked from the very beginning.
I love how old Cat is....she's only fifteen, going on sixteen. And I think it's good to have more YA books with girls who are younger than 17 and 18 and up. Because sometimes, I think some authors don't remember they're earli More...

I was excited to read My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century for several months before its release, so when I received an E-ARC, I dove excitedly into the pages and discovered a thoroughly enjoyable, light-hearted story. Combining familiar elements of using time travel to teach the main character - a delightfully realistic girl - life lessons, even though some parts of Rachel Harris's debut novel are familiar to me, that doesn't mean that I loved the story being told any less.
