The author of this book contacted me after my review of The Perfect Family by Kathryn Shay; aside for the fact that he knew the author of that book, I think he wanted someone who was able to understand Vinny Pirelli and the strength he derived from the faith. Faith is very important for Vinny, as it was for the father of The Perfect Family of above; that father almost disowned his own son since he was gay, but in the end, he understood that being catholic and loving your son weren’t opposite thi ...more

this book reads like a memoir. It is a sometimes sad, sometimes funny, sometimes dramatic, sometimes painful, always real journey of self-discovery for Vincent Pirelli. This book provides an intimate look inside the author's past. With this type of writing, the reader is able to really get to know who he is, why he is the person he's become and feel a sense of closeness to him.

I just finished the book today. It was amazing. This one's very special to me because I can relate to some of the events happened in the story. The cover of the book suits the story, the rainbow thingy. The book gives a very colorful story. It was both happy and sad, but more happy because it was a happy ending. I also love the adventure part and all the funny, naughty, playful things said on the book. It's very inspirational that I wanted to do something that will make me complete, or proud of ...more

Although I found this book to be a little slow (remember though, I am a teenager) I found it an overall good read.
