Leaving home was not a hard decision for Lilah to make. She could either spend her senior year in Gentian with her grandmother who talked to dogs...or stay home with her hopeless mom who preferred dating them.

300 miles later, Lilah barely had time to unpack before she met Hunter--the literal guy of her dreams. Falling in love with him wasn't an option...but would she be a

I had the pleasure of reviewing this book in its early stages. It's a perfect book for young teens and well frankly all ages who love a sweet romance of a book.

It is about a young girl by the name of Lilah who moves in with her grandmother due to turmoil with the family. Lilah has visited her grandmother over the years so is familiar with the area and some of the locals. Still getting her bearings together she gets a job at a local book shop that is run by Nick and his brothers. One who catches

I enjoyed this book a ton. It had elements that reminded me of Twilight and The Wolves of Mercy Falls series, so if you enjoyed those books, you should enjoy this as well. This was a wonderful first novel. The concept was compelling, the plot was solid, and the setting and characters came alive in my head. The characterization was one of the biggest strengths of the book. I really loved the characters, especially Nick, Cam, and Hunter. But Lilah is awesome, too! It's one of those stories that ...more

A book that fed the heart and soul of my inner 11 year old girl. A fast read that isn't full of itself and doesn't try to be or think of itself as something that it isn't. A naive but guilty pleasure. ;-)

Now if Shannon Taylor Hodnett would just hurry up and finish book 2 so we can see what happens next! <3

I really enjoyed this book! The approach was a bit different from other shapeshifting type stories, but with enough simularities to make the story familiar. I read the entire book in a day which should tell you that it was an easy read and very engaging. I enjoyed Lilah's humor and her grandmother's perspective. I would definitely read more of Ms. Hodnett's work.

BIO: I'm an Oklahoma girl gone south...halfway between Houston and the beautiful beaches of Galveston, Texas with my husband, son, three dogs, and one hell-spawned cat. After my freshman year at the University of Oklahoma, I abandoned college life for a lucrative waitressing career. One day—inspired by advice from family and an armed forces episode of Family Feud—I joined the Navy where, after two ...more
