This is the top-flight debut title of a projected series starring bounty hunter Bodie Kendrick. Hard Trail to Socorro is set during the 1880s in the region around Socorro, New Mexico. While on travel, Kendrick seizes a wanted desperado named Jory Ludeck with the intention of escorting him back to Socorro and collecting the reward money. As the title suggest, several factors arise to complicate Kendrick’s making the journey. The most noteworthy is the gorgeous, mysterious, and troubled Veronica F ...more

It’s always good news when a writer you admire has a new book. It’s even better when it’s in a genre you like.

Wayne D. Dundee is best known for his hard-boiled Joe Hannibal private eye novels. Lately he’s turned his attention to the Western, with impressive results. “Hard Trail To Socorro” is the latest of these, introducing bounty hunter Bodie Kendrick. Since this is billed as Book One we’re assured there are more to come.

The tale kicks off to a fast start as Kendrick rouses wanted outlaw Jory
If you like a good western - you'll like this one by Wayne Dundee. It is a story about a Bounty Hunter that finds his man and has a heck of a time delivering him to Socorro to get his Bounty. It has a few fights and gunfights and a romance interest as well as Indians and Soldiers. It has good guys with badges and bad guys with guns. Pretty much got everything you need in a good western.
